In recent years Downtown Kansas City has been inhospitable for glass structures.
Hobos and people inappropriately conducting target practice have done a good job smashing shiny new structures and frightening developers. Remember that at our Downtown Dead Tree Media printing press there have been folks who have taken out windows at the cost of more than 5k a pop.
To wit . . .

Because K-PAC is mostly empty there was nobody to ask about the damage and we just wanted to put this one on blast so mainstream media newsie could get a look and have something to do for Monday. You're welcome.
What's important . . . Either by design flaw, low flying bird, random bullet or a hobo with super-strength . . . Life in Downtown Kansas City is harder than it seems and gentrification schemes face a great deal of challenges.

You know what would fix this? Convention hotel funded by taxpayers.
Every glass building suffers this same thing. The Kansas city Star was a target for awhile. Homeless Services Center had a couple of their windows broken. Maybe that's why down towns were always referred to concrete jungles!
Maybe it's the glass companies doing it knowing that we will blame the knee gars.
It could be the wind, and this design's engineering could be seriously flawed.

Maybe this is expected to happend once an awhile given changes in temperature and pressure. If there is even the slightest flaw in any one of those panes of glass there is a possibility that it will break.
because it's cheap. Don't worry. KC will pay for it.
and today was perfect. if that's what happened then it probably would have happened earlier.
