TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! FOLLOWING BIG CHIEFS WIN, KANSAS CITY WILL GIVE JACKSON COUNTY SPORTS AUTHORITY $2 MILLION THIS WEEK!!!

The Kansas City Chiefs were on the brink of wasting yet another season until a fluke and some exceptionally kind calls from referees turned their luck around.

This week . . . The Jackson County Sports Authority will share in even more good fortune at the behest of taxpayers and politicos.

TO WIT . . . CHECK OUT A $2 MILLION ORDINANCE FOR THE STADIUMS FROM KANSAS CITY THAT'S PART OF THE MOST COSTLY GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT!!!

Here's the legislation: Ordinance #120807

Here's the money line:

"Authorizing a $2,000,000.00 agreement with the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority to be used in connection with the Harry S. Truman Sports Complex. "

Forgive me for paraphrasing former Mayor Funky but what's important here is that there's nothing written down about Kansas City's requirement to pay out this cash. The old Mayor used this as a talking point and it never did him any good. But he was right.

There won't be much controversy about this one from the current crop of elected officials at City Hall not only because Mayor Sly doesn't allow much dissent but also because rampant spending is now commonplace.

For better or worse, big time expenses like this are always defended by pro-sports teams who tout the revenue and jobs created . . . But, let's face it, The Chiefs were lucky to eke out a victory against the worst team in the NFL . . . Job Creation amid an ongoing recession isn't going to come from a front office too stingy to pay for a decent O-Line.

Instead . . . This is Kansas City Payout reminds us that The Chiefs and Royals are still rather mediocre but they STAY WINNING when it comes to taking cash from City Hall.

DEVELOPING . . .

I guess the billionaires will have the money to pay the staff people who work for a living now -- Lord knows the billionaires would never pay the ticket takers etc.

Yea since Mayor Kay Barnes to allow the P&L to
become a Reality of Chaos in Downtown KC. Then Mayor Funk to bring his pet wife with him everyday to the office cause she had no friends. Then you have Mayor Sly son that finally got a reality check you cant go around KC starting fights. As for the Royals & Chiefs and the Sports
Authority in KC its all Whacked like the city in general. So what is Really Goin On ??

Greed & of the Rich that is Bad Karma ! Out for themselves when they want a donation they are nice to you but when they take office they turn their back on you ! I have no respect for 2 face political people they can all go F themselves and Rot were the Fire will burn them up !

In a town full of idiotic ideas and a lack of leadership, wqhen you consider what these billionaires get from the sales tax the $2M maybe one of the most idiotic and biggest disservice to the people of Kansas City. My favorite part is that the Royals have their events like their preseason celebrunchen in Overland Park.

What exactly is the city giving $2million away for? Surely the ultrawealthy owners of the chiefs, in their billion dollar stadium, don't need a mere $2 million more. And lord knows they're not using to pay the people working at the games. Nor are they reducing ticket prices for the fans.

So I'm at a loss. Is this Yet Another Big Business Give Away or what?

All this great news ought to have people all over the country running over each other to move to KC - NOT!!!

Unbelievable. Don't be a moocher. Give all of your money to the rich.

We gave all our money to the rich when the market blew up in 2008. They are taking good care of it obviously.
