Mythbusting National News: Trumped Up Youtube Anti-Muslim Clip Rage & The Real

Sifting through national media "news" that's really more propaganda than anything else I was struck by an interesting narrative that only the totally naive accept without question.

Seriously, it's hard to believe there are adults in this nation who would accept that rioting and organized violent attacks against the West was solely because of one stupid video.

Muslim world rage over a Youtube clip is an easy sell because of a language barrier and stereotypes held by so many Americans.

Other facts make the reality of the situation even scarier. A highly organized and violent series of protests with overwhelming grassroots support aimed against the U.S. doesn't happen because of anything on Youtube. However, it's easy to see why the U.S. wouldn't want its citizens to realize that after a decade of war there remains an overwhelming level of antipathy toward this nation that can be capitalized upon by terrorists. In other words . . . The U.S. isn't even close to winning the war on terror and Osama's ghost has grown stronger. Or something.

Sadly, the tidal wave of propaganda intended for suckers who just watch the news out of habit makes reality harder to decipher.

I only found one link that really made sense . . .

Was anti-Muslim film a trumped up justification for violence?

Check the insightful money quote that NOTES THE START DATE OF THESE VIOLENT PROTESTS IN THE MUSLIM WORLD . . .

"The fact that these attacks took place exactly 11 years from the 9/11 attacks indicates that this is a long and difficult battle against terrorists who believe in sowing death and destruction,"

And that's closer to the reality of the grave situation that doesn't really have much to do with an online video and more to do with the cycle of violence that's ongoing and has now engulfed the globe.

Still . . . Blaming the Internets, U.S. Free Speech and some schmuck who cut together a promo clip makes this violent uprising easier to explain away.

DEVELOPING . . .

I was sitting at dinner in the East Wing last night with a few Wall Street chums and the Messiah. After a few bottles of 1962 Rothschild Chateau Lafitte, Barry said something that really hit home. He said, "we've helped to choose their leadership for 60 years, we stepped in some twenty years ago to help them sort out their border differences, we stuck around at our own expense and helped to keep their skies safe, we've spent ten years helping them sort out good from evil, we've provided them with an entirely new level of security through the use unmanned drones that take out bad guys 24 hours a day, and after of this, this is how they thank us. It boggles the mind." Everyone in the room agreed, these people just don't know how good they have it.

The fact that the State department issued an apology demonstrates what a bunch of complete chumps we have turned into in America. Damn it to Hell people it doesn't matter if some film maker depicts a religious figure getting it on with an aardvark; This would not justify the killing of anyone. The idea that we would even attempt to understand the value structure that could justify these murders is just so off the charts it is unbelievable. God Damn IT! Lets find out who did the deed and make the price for this embassy shit so high these friggen camel humpers will think twice before going there ever again. What happened to America's balls anyway?

You're being naive. We can't bully the rest of the world into submission. Killing people only solves problems in video games. We've killed thousands of Iraqis & Afghans, & it hasn't made us any safer. We need less 'balls' & more brains. We cannot kill over a billion Muslims. We cannot be at war forever. We must find a path to peace.

"The idea that we would even attempt to understand the value structure that could justify these murders is just so off the charts it is unbelievable." No it isn't. Its exactly what we need to do. Xenophobic ignorance hasn't been working. "friggen camel humpers" - homophobic nonsense doesn't help either. They are even more homophobic than Christians. Calling them fags is not the path to peace. We must have peace! We cannot conquer the world, nor can we kill every one who hates us. Trying will only make more people hate us.

I think the prez and Michelle should take their next vacation in either Libya or Egypt.

7:36: This is the "State Department apology" you're talking about:

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions."

I continue to be amazed that anyone would have an issue with this statement, let alone make it a campaign issue.

The Republicans need to stop letting their dummy out without his ventriloquist.

Byron can't agree with you on this one. There is no chance for peace with religious fanatics whose only demand is for America and Isreal to cease to exist. This war against terror will, by necessity, have to go on for a very long time. It won't end in our lifetime. With an enemy with that sole objective we have no other recourse but to keep the homeland as safe as possible and eliminate terrorists when the opportunity presents itself. America, gear yourself up for a very, very long battle against Islamic extremism. If you fail to do so and they win through the war of attrition God or Allah (funny, isn't he one and the same) help us.

Byron, you are mis-informed. I wont call you and idiot, but you need to explore your double standards. If you bothered to speak to arabs or pretend to be one in a group of arabs, you would know that they overall hate the USA. They talk shit about Clinton, Bush, Obama, and consider US people to be "fags". The Arabs only respect one American and that's was Bush between 2001 and 2003 when he was the damn terminator. The minute that the US started to play softball, apologize, and act sensitive, that when shoes get thrown at an American president. Stupid idiots were deathly afraid of blood thirsty dictator, but throw shoes at Bush. In the words of the best fake Hispanic man in movie history, the only thing that gets respect is BALLs. Thats Tony Montana. By the way, if you are Hispanic you can blend into Arab rants easy.

I stand by my first comment. We cannot wage war with Islam. We must of peace.

I've read what the White House and the State Department said after the Lybian attack and I'll be damned if I read an apology there. Calling it an "apology" is nothing short of the political bullshit spin we get anymore. If you expect thanks from a bunch of medieval-thinking fuck heads you're wasting your time. We're there for national reasons not to win the hearts and minds of a bunch of radical turds.
