Yeah a collection of cliches by an average looking no name produced by a guy with a sub par camera and too much time on his hands. Kansas city's filmakers need to focus less on the prettiness of their pictures and more on the stories their telling. That's the hard part. Thats what people will pay to see and ultimately that is what can make an emotional connection to the viewer. I've been studying kc's film scene and while a few people can make pictures look good none have told a story even half as good as hollywoods worst. Story first....then pictures. It's okay though we will get it but it will likely be the next crop of writer directors not the current.
Obviously you don't know shit about the play. It's critically acclaimed and has a great story.
