Kansas City Pain At The Pump

Until gas reaches $10 a gallon . . . Commuting will still be cheaper than taking the Downtown Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar.

Check this KC Biz Journal Report . . .

"The Kansas City area hasn’t seen gas prices this high since May 2011, according to KCGasPrices.com . . . Gas prices are 1.6 percent higher than last week, when the average price was $3.75. The national average is $3.86. Kansas City’s record high for a gallon of gasoline was $3.85 in May 2011."

On the other hand, local drivers with enough cash to pretend that they're saving the planet while driving a hybrid stay winning.

How can run a technically safe blog when he's spending all his time looking at or for big tits?

Anonymous said...

Yeah that's the big question.

Big tits are a sign that we really can have it all!

Record high at $3.85 in May 2011, my ass.
They have fucking short memory. Gas was $4.25/gal. in Kansas City in July, 2008.

@12:47 - Only idiots buy premium.

Only idiots buy premium. I guess since I had a truck that ran with no engine repairs for 290,000 miles on premium that makes me and idiot. Okay.

@1:11

And your point is?

Diesel trucks do that every day.

And some cars and trucks using regular gas do it as well.

Virtually nothing is gained by filling up with a premium or more expensive grade of fuel than the vehicle manufacturer has recommended.

The price difference, however, between the fuel grades is anywhere from 20 cents to 40 cents, depending on where you live in the United States. The experts' consensus goes against the long-held belief by thousand of drivers who fill up with premium only, or on every third or fourth trip to the pump. The idea is to fill up with premium every so often to clean out the engines or rev up the performance of older engines.

But according to the experts, this practice is like tossing quarters in a wishing well, since most engines are designed to operate on relatively low-octane regular unleaded gasoline.

There is little difference in energy content of regular versus premium gasoline.

So yes you are an idiot for spending more money than was needed and gaining nothing from it. You must be related to Byron.

Premium gas is an urban legend that is making convenience stores RICH.

Agree 1247, I remember $4.00 on the low end as well. Seems like it lasted for just a few days, but it was there. And of course the afternoon of 9-11-01 it was almost $6.00 at my neighborhood QT.

Tony, you need to open your eyes and see that THIS is why Kansas City needs to start working on Mass Transit NOW.

Why so we can spend the same as 20 dolars a gallon to ride something?

Gas is 15 cents a gallon in Lybia. How's that Hopey Changie Workin for ya?

This administration wants everyone to ride the bus and get out of SUV's. Will the bus deliver food to the stores?

Next time think it out.
