First Google Fiberhood: Hanover Heights, KCK

The big afternoon announcement . . .
Since just about every neighborhood in town is gonna get it, I'm not sure if I get the big reveal: 180 fiberhoods throughout Kansas City will be wired with the ultra high-speed Google Fiber and the company announced Thursday which neighborhoods will be the first to get it.

My clunky Indian computer tries to get interested . . . And FAILS.

Nothing like a well thought out construction process. What kind of drugs they doing out there in Mountain View?
And Google gets all the free KCPL power it's needs while the rest of us fools get another rate increase. Whats wrong with this picture?

That's the best comment I've seen yet about all of this. They know that you are right, but they want you to buy a new computer, just like Apple changing the adapter so you have to replace everything. If you don't have the latest, best stuff how can you be hip?
Like everything else Google does, you don't build out, you piece meal and cherry pick then build in until the product self destructs itself or you just plain get tired of dealing with the hassles. Then you turn the project over to your junior staffers to make sure the destruction process is as swift as possible. In the perfect world Google would just normally purchase AT+T or Time Warner Cable then run it into the rocks as efficiently as possible.
Your old computers aren't going to be able to run this thing at advertised speeds. Buy a Chrome book! You get a cloud with that, we get all your data to do as with please with it. How can ya loose with a deal like that! Embrace the - "burp" - future!
We got your money, shut up and deal with it. Now go pre order your iPhone so China can get busy and figure out how many temps to hire to fill orders.
I bet customers service is going to be incredible. (ROFL)
Nothing like people who don't pay taxes and get welfare to get the fastest Internet. Way to go Sly!! Helping out our kin folk
This should help deliver fast and better porn with less buffering.
Google will win.
Win what?
How can you lose when the Taxpayers are subsidizing everything. LOL
Can't wait to see how much damage they can inflict during the "construction" process. Hope they are better than AT+T.
So they had to offer TV to get started? ROFL wow the Internet is so popular isn't it?
It's a freaking experiment. Senior Google people will remain or get richer with some locals getting a piece of cake while the rest of us get poorer spending our money on this crap rather than saving or investing it into something other than the ability to watch videos, tv, and play on line games.
Someday computers will be as smart as humans, and will draw upon all this important data stored in the clouds and be able to say. Hey Dude! Wuz the Fuck Up! Fuckin a man!
Trust us were Techies!
Bright side. When people desire intellectual advancement and enrichment Tony's blog will load faster for them.
Little social engineering never harmed anything.
October 2012: the month when skynet became self aware. And it took $10 from ever household in the 913 and 816 area codes before disappearing back to Mountain View, California to laugh atop its $227 Billion market cap.
It's a riot reading all the comments about all this so called fast internet. Even the village idiot Byron chimes up speaking nothing as always.
There is one thing about this so called fast internet many think they are going to get that nobody has thought about yet it appears.
Wonder who wakes up first and thinks of it? I am sure Google won't be the ones to tell you.
Can't wait for super fast fiber speed on my 1999 Win Me machine!
SuperPooper, go fuck yourself.
Aww, someone got his feelings hurt. Maybe Disney has a blog you can retreat to.
