Cursory "Stop The Killing KC" Coverage
KMBC: "The Rev. Tony Caldwell and members of his Stop the Killing KC organization step out to try to find ways to curb violence in the city."
TKC HINT . . . It's interesting that very few mainstream media people are asking Eastside residents about the reputation of this group that isn't exactly sterling despite good intentions.

Speaking of Aim 4 Peace, haven't heard much from them lately. Do we know what's for lunch?
If there's one thing that's certain about any organization or individual on the east side, it is that all ithe other individuals and organizations will badmouth and fight them. And as all this bickering over a couple bucks and who's been on TV goes on, the community continues to disintegrate, anyone who can move out does, vacant lots and empty buildings continue to add to the thousands already there, and at least two murders take place every week of the year.
And meanwhile, the most prominent organizations and individuals continue to be funded, appointed to boards, celebrated, asked for their opinions and views by the media, and do very well for themselves financially.
KCMO Groundhog Day.
Actually, the media aren't asking anybody but the same old names with the same old ideas on the east side about much ofasier to go the anything. It's way too much work to spend some time talking to actual residents and developing an understanding of what they're confronted with every day, and so much easier to just keep quoting Al "It's the slave master mentality" Brooks whenever the media needs a quote about the latest homicide.
The status quo is killing people and until the media, KCMO government, the business community, churches, and most of all, residents of the east side, change what they've been doing to supposedly try to increase the safety of their neighborhoods and who they have doing it, the east side will continue to die.
And all the Google fiber, repaved streets, grocery stores, not-for-profits programs, or much of anything else is going to stop the slide.
