Celebrate The Latest Kansas City Revitalization Scheme For Troost

The Greater KC Chamber is still pushing the Big 5 ideas that include Troost Corridor Revitalization . . .

Here's a nice profile on the best of Kansas City intentions:

BIG 5: I AM SUPERMAN - The Local Show

And watching this I realized that one of the reasons I like KCPT is because they make Kansas City biz, education and political FAIL seem so damn pleasant.

  1. The Big 5 Urban Core project is a partnership among the clueless Chamber, the do-gooders at United Way, and ends up with the steering committee already well-populated by the usual suspects best known for making other people's mponey disappear into thin air.
This will be yet another big announcement followed by endless facilitating, dialoguing, and "inclusiveness", and then disappear into obscurity just like the Green Impact Zone, with money gradually disappearing punctuated by occasional breathless press releases, testimonials, and photo ops.

  5. "The black community cannot continue to do nothing.". Rodney Knott

This brutally accurate assessment of the effectiveness of the east side politicos at improving conditions east of Troost begs the question, "So why do you keep voting these deadbeats into office?"

Hint: Anita Maltbia is part of the problem, Mr. Knott.

  6. Cleaver (and in this clip, his lackey Maltbia) believe that to be successful, the people must have hope. While certainly a necessary ingredient, hope fulfilled brings joy to the soul. But hope deferred makes the soul sick. I think 40 years of failure by the previous and current generations of black political leadership from the east side, along with the sorry state of the black community in KC, make it painfully clear who has failed whom and who is responsible for these consequences. Throw these bums out!!!
