AFTERMATH: EPIC DNC SPEECH FROM CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER PUTS KANSAS CITY BACK ON NATIONAL POLITICAL MAP!!!

Regarding Congressman Cleaver's epic speech last night . . . As a matter of fact . . . I DON'T mind saying . . .

TKC TOLD YOU SO

To wit . . .

Just to reiterate . . .

CONGRESSMAN CLEAVER MADE A POWERFUL DEMONSTRATION OF HIS PERSUASIVE ABILITIES AND RHETORICAL TALENT LAST NIGHT THAT SHOULD REMIND KANSAS CITY WHY THE REP. IS THE STRONGEST ELECTED OFFICIAL IN THIS COWTOWN!!!

Like him or not, there is not doubt that Congressman Cleaver is a power broker on the national political scene which kinda makes everything else in this cowtown seem like small potatoes.

On the other hand, his message was META and hearkened back to his roots as a local Reverend.

Check some of the best links from media outlets who are MUCH busier than The Star and their oddball neglect of one of the most important political moments in Kansas City history.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver cites Christianity to suggest hard-line opposition to GOP

Cleaver rocked the crowd during the unenviable 6 p.m. hour in Charlotte, and he wasn't afraid to act out his words.

Rep. Cleaver to Obama: Hope on!

Cleaver is a tool of the financial services lobby, a lap dog. He also panders to the gun lobby in order to try to attract Bubba Votes, which will never happen. We need a liberal in that seat.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz...

It was a snoozer Tony.

Anonymous said...

Chuck. You are putting on.

This speech gave critics of the rev a lot to work with and drove his fans wild.

It was a lot of things but a snoozer was not one of them.

Pointless and empty? Yup.

But still pretty exciting to watch.

All headline; no story.

They all look like game show hosts to me.

Sure Rev, the bible calls for men with guns to take money from some to give to the poor. And of course you and your friends will decide who those men with guns should go after and who the poor are.

Someone needs to ask why a Republican dominated panel in Jeff City carved the 14 strongest republican precients out of the 5th district. Why? They even moved Turk out of district! In place of the heart of Lee's Summit we got Democratic Lafeyette County? Really? They also ran the district right through the middle of Mike Sanders house. So someone is looking into their republican crystal ball and trying to project 2016.
Can anyone say Jeff Roe and Matt Bartle?
Turk baby, you got gut shot by your own party.

All hat no cattle.

That rah rah stuff is old.

Affective pleas, nebulous feel good sloganeering that appeals to an emotive unrealistic solution to any and all problems.

Republiicans do it too.

Snoozer.

Any relation to Beaver Cleaver?

lets go kill some 3rd trimester baybeees said...

how does the good rev reconcile Christianity with late term abortion?
Christians like the cleave and the Hispanic community of seem to pull the Jesus card while ignoring the sanctity of life.

just ANOTHER shouting yelling LOUD nigger from Kansas City.

Anonymous said...

We could reach a compromise with the kookie right fringe if they didn't want to ban birth control also. But JHC, most third trimester terminations are medically justified. Sorry for speaking truth to you, because I know it makes you get off your meds and want to kill a doctor or three, but facts do have a liberal bent.

Cleaver's moustache is looking old, tired, & thin.

Sarah Palin spoke of her right to choose, remember? And she coose Canadian heath care!

Anonymous said...

Hey I can't remember, but did Turk speak last week in Tampa?

Anonymous said...

Tony, is this your readership these days?

Anonymous said...

Just remember, only a whore will have an abortion, and only prostitutes need birth control!
Can't wait for the day when we outlaw abortions. Then we can get the medical records of every last harlot to have an abortion and brand them right in the middle of their foreheads with a big red A.

I was a speech and debate major in college. I was recognized nationally for my speaking skills. I've heard and critiqued literally thousands of speeches in my day, including some of the BEST speakers in the country.

In my opinion, that speech by Cleaver last night was absolutely AWFUL. AWFUL!!!!

The speech had nothing to do with civility and was internally contradictory. It was really just a bunch of yelling, screaming and chest thumping.

If one looks OBJECTIVELY at this speech, really, it stunk.

By the way, I'm also a Democrat.

And what has the RR Cleav given those he represents in his District..........oh, that's right...the green zone....where a couple of blocks of old houses in "the hood" got weatherized for 30 million dollars... thanks rev... Of course there was the time he claimed he was spat upon and called racial names...but, the videos prove he put his face up to some guys cupped hands that was shouting, "Kill the bill"...not exactly racial, but it will get your face wet...and we get to pay over a million dollars for the car wash he defaulted on...wow, old Jacob looks pretty good right now..

Turk couldn't win in an off year during a Republican title wave.

Now that Cleaver is taking the national stage people are asking

Who is Jacob Turk?

The answer is, hes' the guy who keeps losing to Cleaver.

Anonymous said...

Hey Jacob, got any of that crossroads loot yet? Jeff Roe or Rex kicked in green? How's it feel to be the punching bag, again? You could tell the homeschooled walking around the square last weekend, they had your sticker on and their eyes were really set wide apart.

He needs to take his persuasive ass down to the SBA and pay his f'n business loans off for his car wash. I'm a taxpayer and it's ridiculous that he, the great and powerful, can just not pay his bills and leave his SBA loan for us to pay off. His home should be taken if he can't pay them off. That's what they would do to any of you if you didn't pay your business loans back. It's leaders like this that have ruined this country.

Did anyone get video footage of the white caucus speech? Surely they exist because this is the group standing for equality right? Oh, and did I hear members of the black caucus saying they want what our founding fathers wanted? Didn't our founding fathers actively participate in the slave trade, you know the trade where AFRICA made slaves of their own people and sold their own people for profit and a select few were LUCKY enough to come here and be freed instead of still being slaves in the mines of Africa? A lot of fake emotional hype with zero substance, you can tell he started as a preacher in black churches. LOUD NOISES MAKE YOU HAPPY, KEEP KILLING EACH OTHER THEN COME SUNDAY TO GIVE ME MONEY AND SAY A PRAYER AND ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN.

Anonymous said...

The carwash man sez: pay off that million dollar loan on the carwash and I will entertain your words on civility....haha until then you are spitting on the taxpayers of the USA

Anonymous said...

Cleaver the Deadbeat.

Generally men who skip out on paying their SBA loans are not considered power brokers.

Pay your effing bills Rev! You're an embarrassment!

Last election my son posted a "Vote for Cleaver sign at his home in a predominately white neighborhood."

This election not one member of my family watched his speech couldnt stomach him knowning what we know about he and his cronies.

By the way i am african american and we are not voting for Cleaver.

The only reason Cleaver might be re-elected to one more term is the absence of a campaign by Turk.

What Mr. Cleaver forgets is it was the Republicans under LBJ who gave him his keys to the city. We Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1963 and backed LBJ after the Democrats / Dixiecrats bailed out in protest. Frederick Douglas was a Republican. So were many other minority Statesmen. Condoleezza Rice and other ground-breaking blacks are Republicans.

Mr. Cleaver also ignores the fact that Republicans are not just about Big Business, but putting Americans back to work. That automatically pulls in the Poor, Children, Elderly, etc. Employing people means there is LESS poor and hungry, not more. 23 Million unemployed means MORE people on the street, MORE poor, MORE disadvantaged, MORE disillusioned.

I AM always looking forward, Mr. Cleaver. I AM full of hope. And, I AM Republican and PROUD of it.

Hope on, 11:13.

Actions have far more power than words; a great speech does not bring jobs the district - actions are required to bring jobs, actions are required to promote civility, actions are required for civility and the ability to "move" forward - not just good speeches.
