In Kansas City, Missouri anti-nuke advocates have been increasing their profile and stepping up their game over the past few years.
They LOUDLY objected to a recent nuke component manufacturing plant and even attempted to come up with some alternative uses for the site.
Recently, an effort/ordinance to that would have required Kansas City to reject biz from the nuke industry was scuttled by the City Council.
And let's not forget all of the protests against nuke component makers in the KCMO area.

Like it or not, these old school hippies are now boomers with a great deal of time and influence that aren't as politically isolated as some might want to think.
Furthermore, one of the scariest prospects facing Prez Obama and his supporters like Sen. Claire is that Democrats will not be energized enough to come out in November.
Already in Kansas City the low primary turnout showed us that most registered voters in this cowtown just don't care enough about our Democracy to participate. So, the highly motivated and active KC anti-nuke crowd calling Sen. Claire out on this issue is an exceptionally important move by some of the Senator's most liberal constituents.

A majority of Democrat voters are very lazy. There are enough Dem voters to elect every Dem candidate there is, but because of their laziness do not show up to vote - letting other candidates win that are far too conservative and only hurt our country.
There is no difference in the way Claire does the job and your average right wing Republican Senator.
Claire caused her own problems by trying to hide from the president and the health care plan. In her absence, the Republicans defined both the president and the health care plan with lies. If Claire had stepped forward, provided information and been a Democrat, she would not face problems today.

Applause for the HDCC and their complete lack of effort in trying to compete for seats this election cycle.
I am a voter. I usually vote for the Democratic candidate. I am volunteering for Sen McCaskill. The nukes issue is not high on my priority list.
I disdain the extreme edges of both parties screwing up the practical issues. I abhor the extreme edges trying to undermine the vast middle class with their one trick pony minds.
The no-nukes should go to the other party. I won't miss them.
So 8:12am, lets see if I understand this...A group of potential voters have questions of the current (and running again to keep her job) Senator in regard to something near and dear to their heart. And by the way, they help support her with contributions. You don't like extremeists and the issue isn't important to you personally, so therefore, it isn't an important issue.
It matters not your party affiliation, your attitude about things that matter to people is piss-poor at best, are you a current Senator or member of the House? I happen to be on the other side of the aisle, but can still understand the importance of issues I may deem not important to me but recognize their right to have them addressed by the person who is trying to "represent them". For you to simply discount them and tell them to go to the other party is the utmost of arrrogance and ignorance. Being a Republican, I'm glad your working to ruin Sen. 8:12 has a point. I've been accosted by the anti-nuke people. In fact, I know some of them. My issue with them is they want to dictate what kinds of work companies can do on those companies' property (and even if the work is not done in this area, it will be done somewhere). I have learned to listen politely and not express an opinion one way or another because they simply will not tolerate disagreement. I don't blame Claire for not wanting to get into their no-win loop.
We apologize for the apology regarding the apology apologizing for the apology we should have not had to apologize for had we apologized sooner rather then denying any apology was appropriate.
Comments will resume at a later date after the apology serves it's purpose to apologize for what shouldn't have to have been an apology to begin with.

Tony could have been more forthright in his apology to Wright to comply with the agreement Wright offered to drop the lawsuit against Tony... namely NOT to close COMMENTS...or delete all the many links some asshole posted all over Tony's blog about the proposal for dropping the suit... namely RETRACT and APOLOGIZE in return for dropping the suit.
Tony did the right thing for his LEGAL INTERESTS to apologize...but he should have also let the chips fall in the public dialogue, which is how he normally runs his blog.
I continue to read and support his efforts...he's a valued resource to the best interests of our community. We all screw up once in a while.

Ok 10:29, maybew a little refresher of 6th grade grammar is in order. You only use You're if you can replace it with "you are". Check out http://www.wikihow.com/Use-You%27re-and-Your for your refresher. I do know that grammatically "You're an idiot" is totally correct. So after you so ignorantly tried to correct my already correct grammar, I see our points are not very far off. You too, do not like the anit-nuke folks and see how the Sen. would not want to talk to them, however, she still represents them if elected to her position. I merely suggested she do what you describe yourself as doing and listen and then go about her business.

I'm not a fanatic about grammar, but it is difficult to grasp people's points when reading these posts and running into such basic mistakes when the post is otherwise well-written. In this case I wondered what "your" was referring to--as in "your WHAT?" Then I realized you'd meant "you're"--or at least I thought you did, but now you say you didn't, so that makes it even more confusing.

Not verifying sources of a post that serious usually means the author was paid to post "claims that were were not verified and that such claims should be viewed as baseless."

I still think he has a great blog but I do wish he'd work a little harder to verify his tips. Even with periodic bad and self-serving 'tips', I read him daily.

It annoys me the way bloggers throw out the Free Speech card knowing that what they were posting and reading is of other intent.
A journalist or blogger can not or should not make money posting baseless unverified claims with malicious intent to destroy the image or character of another individual and call it free speech.
While this blog publishes news every day it also publishes what seem to be clear paid take down pieces with the purpose of annoying an individual for a day and affecting their image when googled in the future.
That is called defamation.
