Not only does this town suffer HORRIFICALLY LOW voter turnout rates . . . But now check out an ordinance for an election that would change up one of the few fun aspects of this town's elections.
CHECK OUT COUNCIL DUDE RUSS JOHNSON SPONSORING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE FOR A BALLOT ITEM THAT WOULD STIFLE THE CITIZEN INITIATIVE PETITION PROCESS FOR PEOPLE LIKE CLAY CHASTAIN AND OTHERS LIVING OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS!!!

"Calling for submission to the voters of Kansas City, at an election to be held on November 6, 2012, a question amending the Charter of Kansas City to require that each person circulating an initiative, referendum or recall petition be a current resident of Kansas City, Missouri; directing the City Clerk to notify the responsible election authorities of the election on or after August 24, 2012, but not later than August 28, 2012; and recognizing this ordinance to be an emergency measure."
To wit . . .
THIS EMERGENCY ORDINANCE WOULD ESSENTIALLY PUT KANSAS CITY TRANSIT ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN OUT OF COMMISSION!!!
And this bit of legislation wouldn't just impact Clay . . .
- There would also be a consequence for anti-nuke advocates.
- A few of the pro-hemp legal weed petitioners would have to remember another rule.
- On the conservative side . . . Rex Sinquefield supported advocates would have had to endure the trouble of finding local workers for his anti-e-tax initiative.
And while we like to keep things local . . . Sadly, lobbying money in Kansas City flows freely in every direction and only citizen input into our declining local Democracy is heavily regulated.

Why is EVERYTHING an emergency for the council except for even trying to do anything about the appalling number of homicides in their city?

If Tony is acting poor, he's overdoing it. Lives in a shithole of a house that most homeless people wouldn't use. Has a wardrobe that looks like a cross between Haystacks Calhoun and Chunk from the Goonies. Hygiene? What's that?

It is annoying the way bloggers throw out the Free Speech card knowing that what they were posting and reading is of other intent.
A journalist or blogger can not or should not make money posting baseless unverified claims with malicious intent to destroy the image or character of another individual and call it free speech.
This blog indeed publishes news every day while also publishing what seem to be clear paid take down pieces with the purpose of harassing an individual for a day and negatively affecting their image when googled in the future.
That is called defamation and the elected officials and anonymous commenters encouraging Tony to continue doing so, do so with the same clear intent.
