This is PART OF WHY health care costs so much. No patient should be reimbursed by more than the cost of their corrective health care expenses when suffering a loss. 2 million tops, more likely 1 million tops if it comes to that.
Even JURIES think health care has a blank check, when in fact, the rest of us have to pay for those mistakes. Just now much is a life worth?? Ten million. I wish!
It's not juries jobs to give victims a winning lottery ticket. Just justice, and no more.
Damn, he got almost as much as that former executive, who offed herself in Florida.
He was injured at St. Luke's, but the lawsuit was against a heat pump manufacturer, not the hospital.
7.1 million for actual damages, fuck what did the guy do? And what are the punitive damages for? Sounds like he was jacking around with something he shouldn't have been playing with if he didn't think to shut the power off first. Companies can't plan for every stupid thing people will do. But hey companies have deep pockets and we will pay ultimately in higher costs. The trial lawyers are just laughing their asses off as they cruise around in their new yacht. Ever notice that some of the largest office buildings in town are law firms? Suing is good business.
Man what a waste an idiot gets an award for being stupid and a jury who was more stupid than he was gave it to him.
Also T you have the wrong heading for this story.
Ya-st Luke's wasn't sued.
