Again . . . The decision is up to Downtown voters BUT there's no question that LGBT allegiances to Kansas City Democratic elite are being strained during this primary.

I am so tired of boring blue, and boring straight people and the boring Democrat and Republican Parties. SarahG should start a new KC Progressive Party and leave all the boring behind.
What's really boring are all the candidates, consultants, and campaigns with nothing at all to say abour what they might actually try to do if elected. All activities and not an idea in in sight.
And does every little group really need to have its "own" elected offcial? It's like watching Noah load up the Ark two-by-two.

Even though it is so hot here in KC this race leaves me plain cold. I don't know if Miss Judy is L,B,G or T.... don't care. Both of these Democrat ladies are qualified to go to today's GOP Jefferson City. Today's Jefferson City is run by flat out no neck, non-bible reading but bible-thumping drones (not the good kind of drones that actually do some work shooting down Al Qaeda). Bless these ladies for thinking that they can make a difference in our lives.
The Freedom vote surely highlights the divisiveness in all of today's politics even with in parties. Miss Kiki Curls championed the Sarah girl over the loud objections of many of the members. Freedom gave their tatty endorsement to Gilhooley and snubbed Miss Judy Morgan. Morgan has been a staunch supporter of Freedom and of unions.
I guess you can't count on loyalty.
My family members who live in the district are strong Judy Morgan supporters. Thank goodness they are frequent voters and not one issue tinkerers.
Mr. Tony, why was attendance lite at Miss Kiki's Missouri Black Caucus event? Lite is being kind. 60- 100 people including wait staff is a poor turnout. Hope Jermaine Reed got his city dollars worth for this event. I suppose the expertise of G&H Consultants (That's Gayle Holliday's WBE/MBE Trojan Horse) just wasn't up to snuff as far as getting people to attend.

Im a supervoter that lives downtown and the only piece of mail I received was from Crystal Williams so Im not sure who they sending mailings to but I didn't receive one
Once again, Tony neglects to mention Republican candidate Jonathan Sternberg, a well-known local establishment attorney who's smart, likeable, and centrist. If Gillooly wins the Dem nomination, the KC business establishment will support Sternberg instead of a radical leftist who won't ever be able to get anything done with the majority in Jeff City. Nominate Gillooly, Sternberg wins. Tony knows Sternberg and has covered him before. He deserves a mention here, too.

I've always suspected he's an easy lay, and will give his loyalty to most anyone who sucks up for his attentions and his ego.
That does not make for a guy who lectures us all incessantly, while on the other hand, gratuitiously calls his blog a 'dump', from some guy who lives in his moms basement.

Have either of these candidates even READ the Missouri state constitution? Do they know we even have one? Their campaign promises are unconstitutional, but hey, who needs that pesky constitution anyways?

NotGoingBack: 8:08 a.m. anon is right. If you're correct and Gillooly wins the Dem nomination against Morgan, then she'll have no chance against Sternberg in the general election. The KC establishment and business community will definitely back down to earth Sternberg over out-of-towner radical leftist activist Gillooly. Nominate Gillooly, and the seat will go Republican for the first time in a century. I agree with 8:08 that Tony really should mention Sternberg in his coverage of this.
10:22 - Don't know about Morgan or Gillooly, but Sternberg definitely has read the constitution. He's a respected appeals lawyer who practices lots of constitutional law.
What, no gay Mexican women in the 24th want to run. That would be Tony's ideal candidate.

How many people need to tell TKC these bullshit stories about the missouri legislative contests arent really of much interest? All behind the scenes shit affecting or interested to a couple dozen people.

Fair is fair. Judy Morgan ran and won this seat for one session. It was altered slightly, but it's really her former seat. And she's made a great first impression in the legislature. She spoke up and supported all the progressive issues that Democrats stand for. She's brave and tough. Remember, it's not easy for progressives in Jeff. Let's give her a reach chance to shine for the next two years.
Judy Morgan is a pathetic excuse for a legislator who's only in it for her own vanity. She accomplished nothing in the half-term she was in Jeff City and will never accomplish anything. Gilooly's a better bet, but Sternberg might actually be able to do more for KC.
