It's an opportunistic ploy that plays to misinformed voters and the worst instincts of the local electorate . . . The tactic rarely works and usually makes everybody feel horrible about the process . . . But it's also a bit of a Kansas City tradition.
Speaking of opportunists . . . Jackson County Legislator Crystal Williams has already given us a look at her dark side by producing a hit piece aimed at her opponent Jason Holsman.
Jackson County insiders say it was ineffective, cheap and forgettable . . . Very much like Crystal's tenure as a legislator so far.
Still . . .
WORD AROUND KANSAS CITY POLITICAL CIRCLES IS THAT CRYSTAL MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT GET EVEN MORE VICIOUS AS HER CAMPAIGN BECOMES MORE DESPERATE!!!
Already her fledgling political career is in jeopardy when she loses . . . She's not only made more than a few enemies in Democratic political circles but her backhanded method of campaigning has been noted among the party elite.
Put simply, after this loss Crystal Williams might not have much of a career as an aspiring Kansas City politico.
We've heard about even more negative campaigning that we're going to profile soon enough . . . Still . . . What's important to understand this evening is:
Crystal Williams was a so-called Kansas City reformer. Now that she's desperate, she has become just another cowtown politico looking to playing dirty.

Gillooly is almost totally funded by anti-and not non -- labor money. She was a stealth candidate for the 1 percent.

Holsman chairs the renewable energy commitee you fools. His efforts are responsible for solar power in missouri. That is why he got the most liberal organization in the state, the sierra club, to endorse him.

This is now and has always been about her own ego, not whats in the best interest of kansas city or the democratic party.

The only way that Jason Holsman got a Committee Chair from the Republican leadership and the Energy lobby is giving the political equivalent of blow jobs. He did not "compromise" he sold his soul to the people who want to "burn food" and call it "renewable energy." When food prices are up again next year because so much acreage is committed to corn that can only serve as fuel, you can thank Jason Holsman.
11:47 - Then why are all alternative energy and environmental groups supporting Holsman? Sierra Club supports Holsman. Are they in on this conspiracy also?
Compromise? Whats that? Wait that is a word only real candidates, those who challenge themselves in run a district that isn't 90 percent democrat have to deal with.
