Not so long ago a local weather newsie called people "Nazis" if they noted the reality of Global Climate Change . . .
Because my TV watching habits also make me an expert in meteorology I think it's CLEAR that Kansas City is getting hotter just like the rest of the planet.
Worst of all . . . People wearing fewer clothes in this cowtown isn't good for anybody.

Kansas City hit a record 104 degrees on Friday. That official temperature at Kansas City International Airport broke the previous record for July 6 of 103 degrees, set in 1954 and 1939.

So, when it's hot, it's proof of so-called "global warming," but when it's cold (or mild, like last summer), it's just an "anomaly"? So, what's the "normal" temperature "supposed" to be? This is all nonsense. We've only been observing temperature for 160 years. Chances are the "record" this Friday was broken many other times in the past couple millenia. We just weren't around to see it. The "global warming" panic is just political, unscientific b.s. In 100 years, it'll be as amazing (and utterly stupid seeming) that this b.s. actually received some traction as the ideas of prohibition and flying machines with bat wings are to us today.
Shut the fuck up and get back to Glenn Beck so you can be told how to think.

Tony, you make the same mistake that climate change deniers make when it snows in January. You confuse "weather" in a particular spot on the planet with global climate.
The evidence that the planet is warming is NOT that it's hot in Kansas City in July. That's happened before. And quite regularly.
The evidence is decades of data collected from all over the planet that shows, unquestionably, that the planet is warming at a rather alarming rate.
The deniers can't argue against the data, so they argue against the cause, which is as silly as standing in a pile of doggy doo and wondering where the smell came from.
Regardless of the degree we think that human activity is responsible, the fact remains that consuming fossil fuels at the rate we are consuming them, and throwing millions upon millions of tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is unsustainable and carries severe consequences.
Global Warming + Climate Change = Give me money. You think it's hot now wait till Jesus gets done with it.

It was pretty hot in 1980. And pretty cold in 1978-79, 1983, 2009 and 2010.
