Embattled Councilman Jermaine Reed wants more discussion about the use of eminent domain between City Staff and Eastside homeowners.
Kansas City was prepared to condemn properties this afternoon but Council Dude Jermaine held up the ordinance for two weeks . . .
Council dude Reed stressed that he wouldn't be leading the discussion but his office would support the effort to facilitate a dialogue between homeowners and City Staff.
We'll see . . .

I like where he stresses that he would not be leading the discussion. He just does not understand.
It's good that he did something but it might be too late.
When a city is leaderless and without a vision, strategy, or priorities, the elected and top appointed folks will get jerked around by anyone about anything at any time. And they bob and weave and zigzag from one thing to the next.
In KCMO some of the influence peddlers wear suits and press for handouts like the executives at Lockton on the Plaza just got, and some wear jeans and make demands, like the people recalling Reed because of the East Patrol project.
But if you're a weathervane without any core ideas or direction, you end up spinning around just like in this case.
And then you have to go to the voters and try to make believe you're really interested in them, not just the last guy who left your office that you gave everything he wanted.
You couldn't run a lemonade stand this way, much less a city of almost half a million.
Does Reed really think this piss poor strategy is going to help him with the third district voters (both of them)? His worthlessness is already highly apparent. He's a one-term wonder (or non wonder) who has the strategic mind of a slug.
