TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! WILL KANSAS CITY LOSE THE CRIME-FIGHTING LEGACY OF ALVIN BROOKS?!? LETTER NOTES TERRY RILEY OUT OF THE RUNNING TO TAKE OVER AD HOC!!!
The fate of an important Kansas City institution is on the line as the Ad Hoc Group against crime struggles to transition into a new era of leadership.
To wit . . .
TKC TIPSTERS TELL US THAT A FORMER COUNCILMAN TERRY RILEY RECENTLY TURNED IN A LETTER TO AD HOC IN ORDER TO WITHDRAW HIS NAME FROM THE SEARCH TO REPLACE FORMER COUNCILMAN ALVIN BROOKS AS THE PRESIDENT/CEO!!!
Remember that over the weekend we talked about Former Councilman Riley as one of the top contenders for the job.
Now that Mr. Riley is out, the search becomes far more complex.
And then we need to ask . . .
HAS ONE BOARD MEMBER DOOMED THE AD HOC ORGANIZATION AND PREVENTED THE GROUP FROM CARRYING ON THE STRONG LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP WHICH MR. BROOKS PROVIDED?!?!?
Behind the scenes we hear it came down to one vote and one mostly personal/political feud.
Additionally, TKC TIPSTERS tell us that Former Councilman Brooks was frustrated with the decision and thought that Mr. Riley would make a good replacement.
In the aftermath or Mr. Riley's decision there really aren't any candidates capable of living up to the anti-violence archetype that Mr. Brooks has created.
Perspective . . . A former UMKC Basketball player in his early 30s is now the front runner.
A broader look at the issue reveals that once again the needs of a Kansas City bureaucracy outweigh effective strategies for the group at large. Like it or not, The Ad Hoc Group Against Crime is one of the strongest and well-respected voices against Eastside violence and murder and now there's a real question if new leadership can live up to that legacy.
DEVELOPING . . .
Not completely out.
ReplyDeleteYou can't argue with the success this group has had. KC is a nationwide story of how one dedicated organization can make their city virtually crime free.
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley could have built upon and expanded that legacy, 7:39.
ReplyDeletei am sure it wont be a white guy. even if the guy is really qualified.
ReplyDeleteMost of the negative comments on here are posted by one dried up, stupid, skaggy bitch name Karen Conrad who receives a county paycheck as an assistant to the corrupt old county legislator Fred Arbanas. You can smell her posts.
ReplyDeleteHa. 739 is right. Is there enough paper in the world to print all the legacy and success of the group? We would need to find another uninhabited planet just to have room to store the many victories of the ad hoc group.
ReplyDeleteIt's a legacy that should be lost.
ReplyDeleteLegacy? Kansas City is ranked one of the most dangerous cities, you need only look at this leadership in the communities to see why. The crime rates soared while Brooks pockets got fatter. The guy is a con who couldn't hack it as a police officer so tried his crime fighting abilities this way, and failed again. He's fed off the prujudicial fears of this community for his own personal wealth. I don't think finding another greedy, useless, race baiting degenerate that will make money through cons and minimal effort will be hard to find around here. There's at least one on every block who can continue this "legacy". What a joke. Good riddance Alvin, it's a long overdue exit. What trash
ReplyDeleteThe problem is you can't replace Alvin Brooks.
ReplyDeleteBut Alvin has no problem replacing girlfriends. Proof that women are stupid.
ReplyDeleteA good group.once but they won't be able to stay relevant. A lot of their importance is already fading.
ReplyDeleteA legacy to last a lunch-time
ReplyDeleteTerry is probably right for that position because there is no background check. Terry is a good guy but make no mistake about it, he is only about what is good for Terry. He will bring recognition and a good spotlight for a moment. But that will all fade when he pisses the wrong woman off. Terry has a problem with taking cash and screwing women that are not his wife.
ReplyDeleteBeth would be great for this position.
ReplyDeleteI think Kyle James should get the job. Wait, the group is AGAINST crime? Nevermind. Back to smacking around white chicks for Kyle.
ReplyDeleteTerry Riley is the only person who can motivate the community. Who was the dummy blocking him?
ReplyDeleteAlvin crooks is a racist living in the 60s still and has done nothing but be a criminal. All back leaders in the city are racist and criminals.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great deal of inaccurate information on this one Tony. Mr. Riley had more than one vote against him for from the Board and Alvin was not really that convincing in his support of Mr. Riley. So don't believe everything that Terry tells you.
ReplyDeleteReducing crime in KC is way more complex than some ad-hoc organization run by a middle aged, or elderly local personality. It's about culture....about lack of respect for life...about drugs and gangs and bad behavior because it feels GOOD.
ReplyDeleteNO 'ad hoc' organization is going to fix this in the US, anymore than arab religion will stop arabs from murdering each other for their disrespect for life, and thrill of killing others.
I think we'll need to take them out and at some point, Homeland Security will do exactly that....but it'll take ignoring the Constitution to do so. That's probably why Homeland Security is arming itself.
This anarchy, by blacks or arabs, will destroy the freedom's we've enjoyed during the 20th century and result in the Big Brother mentality we've always feared.
That will be the cost of anarchy to our nation. Loss of American Freedom. A police state in the inner cities...brought about by the lawlessness of those who live there, who don't respect LIFE and don't respect FREEDOM. Its all about IGNORANCE.
And yes, it has a lot to do with black culture which has no respect for itself and it's future. They have screwed the pooch by their own ignorance.
They could have done better by now, but apparently it's not in them or their cultural leaders to do so. There's no MLK to lead them today.
Alvin Brooks? Crime fighting? More like candle lighting.
ReplyDeleteThat rhymes and it's funny.
ReplyDeleteterry is the biggest crook in kc theres not enough money in ad hoc for terry to steal
ReplyDeleteThe man's never missed a vigil in his life.
ReplyDelete12:41
ReplyDeleteGreat comment.
Ha wrote the letter for Terry?
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout Kevin Masters
ReplyDeleteAd hoc is nothing more than a paycheck, and a nice one for a long time, for Al Brooks. Who's going to "take over" that? And for what?
ReplyDeleteAl's cashed in and now it's probably time for a brand new 2012 scam to replace the old ad Hoc shakedowns.
There are lots of candidates, but no one with any sense will think about giving these folks money.
The thugs are in the minority and there are lots of folks on the east side that are way past being tired of the same old grifters who have done so much to bring their neighborhoods to ruin while they make really good livings.
It's the 21st Century and thee folks' time is past.
Terry has never done anything for anyone but Terry. I know that more than just ONE person did not want Terry to succeed Al Brooks. And as this forum states - to succeed what? Ad Hoc is not a proactive or intervention group - it always shows up after the fact.
ReplyDeleteSorry Terry that you can't get a job as a former councilperson but you have pissed too many people off over the year.
The bible says that arrogance comes before a fall and you have been arrogant (with no substance) for far toooo long. You have fallen and don't even realize it.
Its sad.
