Again, LGBT Activist Sarah Gillooly has the early lead in the 24th District Race for The Missouri House and to represent Downtown Kansas City.
Judy Morgan earned the CCP Endorsement last night . . . But we hear she's having trouble raising cash.
Something tells me so many Downtown members of the LGBT community will bend over backwards to make this happen. (TKC HINT: No, I never get tired of that stupid joke.)

Four Freedoms Democratic Club Announces Endorsement of Sarah Gillooly
24th District State Representative Seat
The Four Freedoms Democratic Club has announced its endorsement of Sarah Gillooly, candidate for Missouri House of Representatives - District 24. The seat was vacated recently when incumbent Mike Talboy stepped down to take a position in the private sector. The new district includes the City Market, Downtown, Westport, Plaza, Coleman-Highlands, Hyde Park and the West Side of KC.
“Sarah Gillooly is exceedingly qualified to fill the role of Representative for the 24th District in Kansas City,” said Jim MacDonald, President of Four Freedoms. “Her experience in political advocacy--first as a community organizer for PROMO and then as an advocate for a non-profit women's health care provider--will make her an effective voice in Jefferson City.”
"Her experience in defending the rights of women, gays, low income people and working class families in both Jefferson City and Topeka have prepared Sarah for the challenge of serving in the Missouri House of Representatives. Sarah is a dedicated community organizer and brings positive energy to her campaign and she will be a vibrant and effective State Representative."
Of added significance is the fact that Sarah Gillooly is an out lesbian. If successful in her bid to fill this office, Sarah would be only one of two out gay/lesbian officeholders in Missouri’s House of Representatives and the only out lesbian. “Given the hostile position on LGBT issues held by many members of the General Assembly, it is critical that there continue to be an LGBT presence in the state legislature”, said MacDonald.
“We realize there are other qualified candidates in the race. However, the choice of Sarah Gillooly would send a powerful signal of support to progressive voters who care about women’s rights and LGBT equality.”

I honestly do support the you and the important causes you champion.
But endorsing someone because of the way they were born? ... because they are LGBT? ...really?
That's no different than voting against someone because of their race.
What does that say to sincerely open, accepting heterosexuals who support full LGBT rights simply because they know its FAIR?
Are YOU being fair, Four Freedoms? ... making endorsements primarily on the basis of the candidate's sexual orientation? ...not on what their positions are ... but how they were born?

I know Sarah Gillooly and she is not just getting this endorsement because she is a lesbian. Sarah is one of the fiercest advocates for women, education, workers, and community that I have ever met in my life. I know that I will vote for her and I hope that others do the same.
Wick you are a freak. You and your crazoid youth movement followers are going to lose the election for Sarah with your "I hate straight people" comments. Judy is a very good rep and a voice for equal rights but we voted to endorse Sarah because of her sexual orientation. There is no reason to make stuff up.
