NUNS PROTEST IN KANSAS CITY FOLLOWING "RADICAL FEMINIST" REBUKE AND CHARGES OF DISOBEDIENCE FROM THE VATICAN!!!

Kansas City nuns and their supporters recently staged a noteworthy political protest.

More than 200 turn out at rally to support U.S. nuns - Local Catholics stand against a report that says sisters have strayed from church teaching.

More than 100 people in Kansas City say they don't want the power of nuns to be overlooked.

The New York Times provides much better background on the story:

"The Nun Justice Project, made up of several Catholic groups, began coordinating nationwide vigils for nuns after the Vatican reprimanded the Leadership Conference of Women Religious in April for “serious doctrinal problems” that included promoting “radical feminist themes.”"

The display was somewhat interesting to me if only because during several years of Catholic education the only thing I ever heard from nuns was to sit down, shut up and respect the authority of the Church . . . On the other hand, rest assured that if Catholic nuns are going rogue then Kansas City doesn't stand a chance against their expert use of guilt and corporal punishment.

For all of our lives "The Vatican" (the literally self-appointed clique of sanctimonious, officially non-sexual men who are clearly fixated on the sexual behavior of others) has been ... well ... full of shit.

The Church will make a serious political mistake by pissing off Catholic women. already done that by seducing their sons, now they're going after feminism. Wonder if they'll sell their property cheap to make up for the loss of business? I bet most Sunday checks are signed by women!

The nuns have "serious doctrinal problems"? Is it written somewhere that its ok for the priests to molest little boys? The Vatican will make a stand agains thte nuns, but mearly transfer the molesting priests...that makes sense. What a bunch of retards.

Excommunicate them. If they can't follow church teachings then they should not be in the clergy.
They think they now run the church and they don't.
So much for their vows of "poverty, chastity and OBEDIENCE."

excommunicate you for judging others who are following spiritual calling...that is what they are meant to do.

The fact that the Catholic Church can't get their own people interested, in much of anything, shows how irrelevant that they are becoming.
No matter what their public stance is on ANY subject, their people are giving a collective YAWN.

I work with nuns and i can tell you, these women are the most caring, compassionate, selfless people. They do the work no one else wants to do...working with the poorest, most vulnerable, and ignored persons in this world. Shame on Rome and shame on Bishop Finn especially for not understanding and supporting the work of these sisters. He is a menace.

Yes, most nuns are very caring, compassionate and selfless. So? This issue isn't about the work nuns do. This whole issue is about the doctrines of the Church and the fact that a minority of nuns have become so puffed up that they believe that they have "evolved" beyond the Church.

That's cool. They should just stop calling themselves Catholic and instead join the ranks of the old women of the Methodist or Presbyterian or Unity churches.

But if you're gonna use the identity of the Catholic church then it has to mean something.

This minority of nuns wants to believe/spout whatever they want and still use the cache of being a Catholic nun.

The majority of nuns are devout Catholics who remain faithful to the teachings of the Church. We all love them and the Vatican is fine with them and the wonderful work they do.

These other "sisters" - a small minority - need to stop being so dishonest. If they don't believe the Church's teachings then just move on down the road. Good riddance.

3:14 is a self-righteous ass -- no wonder he tows "the Vatican Line".

If THE VATICAN actually believed in "doctrines of the Church" they would take pedophilia a lot more seriously.

I saw them and it was more like 30 people tops. L

I would trust a nun. I would not trust a priest.
