Jessie Burke is a recent KU grad and already she's making a name for herself among Kansas City foodies, the entrepreneurial set and the local blogging community.

Her flagship site KC’s Best Restaurants focuses on localism, sustainability, and the uniquely Kansas City-centric food culture.

Regarding the project, we sent a message Jessie's way and she told us that "the focus of KC's Best Restaurants' blog is on locally-owned restaurants, organic ingredients and sustainability. We hope to shine a light on the recently-developed KC culinary scene for the benefit of Kansas Citians and visitors alike."

She's the CEO and founder of Yums The Word, LLC

Most notably, her company is publishing KC’s Best Restaurants 2013, two native foodies name 100 locally-owned restaurants as KC’s Best.

Regarding the publishing endeavor, Jessie says: "Our book, KC's Best Restaurants 2013, will be released September 1, 2012, and will feature 100 of these restaurants that have been in business for at least two years."

Fun fact . . . Jessie Burke's company recently relocated from JoCo to The Crossroads in a delicious bit of biz poaching that should benefit KC Proper.
