Here Comes The New Jackson County Judge

From The KC Biz Journal: "The finalists for an open Jackson County 16th Circuit judgeship includes . . . Gregory Gillis, an associate circuit judge in Jackson County; Kevin Harrell, chief deputy prosecuting attorney for Jackson County; and Jalilah Otto, special assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Missouri."

  1. It will be Harrell because he dropped his challenge to Mean Jean.

  7. Ah, the "non-partisan court plan." If there were any real reporters in Kansas City, someone would notice that three black candidates were picked by the secret committee to fill the vacancy in the "traditionally" black Division 18. Non-partisan?
It was just a year ago that Kansas City paid out over $2 million for the same conduct. http://www.pitch.com/plog/archives/2011/01/26/clumsy-attempt-at-diversity-costs-kansas-city-21-million
You can't pick a judge on the basis of race, unless it's the "non-partisan court plan."
