Assault, Abuse And Child Endangerment Charges Against Kansas City Woman Accused Of Locking Ten-Year Old Daughter In A Closet
Follow-up on a case that shocked Kansas City this week:
KCTV5: "A metro mother is behind bars after leaving her child in a closet. She has been charged with 1st degree assault, abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a child."

This statement compromises the defendant's constitutional right to a fair trial, and Jean best put a muzzle on this idiot before she gets a bar complaint. She is ultimately responsible for his statements, and the Rules of Professional Conduct prohibit what Mansur said.
What happened to a defendant's right to remain silent? And the government commenting on it in the national press before the trial? Abusing a child is wrong, horrible, depraved. But so is the government violating a person's constitutional rights.
Substantial likelihood of heightening public condemnation of the accused is the standard. Did Mansur do this by spouting off on the AP wire? Yep. What an amateur, who's comments are now attributed to the jaco prosecutor. Way to go.
If Jean is suspended one day by the Bar she loses her job. What mike Mansur did was what no opponent could have done to her. Betcha there's a meeting tomorrow behind closed doors with Mikey.
I think they were merely answering a question on whether the woman, who gave a statement too police, said why this child and not the others. It has now been reportrd that the mother said something about not letting the child out of the house at least because she looked malnourished.
Also that commenting thing is in court. Remeber this was to the media.
So now Mansur is commenting about a defendant's confession???? It just keeps getting worse. Prosecutor Ethics 101 is a course apparently not taken by Mansur. If he's the spokesperson, he should know these rules backwards and forwards. Mansur isn't "media" - he is now a government employee held to, hold your breath, certain ethical standards. And you can't say that stuff TO THE MEDIA!!!!

This woman was not crazy, as 7:42 seems to think. She took care of her two other children without starving and abusing them. The store mentions the scummy bitch's boyfriend but not the three babies' daddies. Wanna bet they are by three different guys? Throw her ass in jail for the rest of her life. She tortured her daughter for years. The so-called woman deserves nothing less.

I mean, my first tendency is to favor hanging, but lethal injection might be better.
