TKC MORNING QUESTION!!! IS MAYOR SLY'S BEAUTIFUL SMILE WORTH A BILLION DOLLAR KANSAS CITY TAX INCREASE?!?!?

Just a quick thought on this one . . .
I DON'T CARE HOW POPULAR POLITICOS THINK MAYOR SLY IS . . . IN THIS ECONOMY NOBODY IS CHARISMATIC ENOUGH TO PULL OFF A BILLION DOLLAR TAX INCREASE!!! CLEARLY MAYOR SLY IS MISTAKENLY BELIEVING HIS OWN HYPE AS HE PREPARES TO TAX KANSAS CITY TO DEATH!!!
Take a look at Mayor Sly and The Star working to develop a narrative together . . . .
Mayor begins hard sell for taxes to fix KC's infrastructure
Here's what's not being reported . . .
THERE'S NO WORD THAT MAYOR SLY'S BILLION DOLLAR TAX INCREASE PLAN WON'T ALSO INCLUDE A BUNCH OF TIF FOR ALL OF THE KANSAS CITY ELITE WHO STRANGELY KEEP TELLING US THAT THE MAYOR IS BELOVED!!!
One more thing . . .
WITH PUBLIC SAFETY CUTS AND NOW A HUGE TAX INCREASE AT THE BEHEST OF DEVELOPERS . . . IT'S CLEAR MAYOR SLY DOESN'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT NEIGHBORHOODS AND WORKING PEOPLE IN KANSAS CITY!!! HIS ADMINISTRATION NOW SEEMS TO BE NOTHING BUT A SCAM AIMED AT MAKING MONEY FOR THIS TOWN'S ELITE!!! THE MAYOR DOESN'T REPRESENT MONTGALL . . . MAYOR SLY IS ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY FOR THIS TOWN'S RULING CLASS!!!
I'm tired of being nice to this bully while he continually loots taxpayers with a grin.
It's time to start getting rough with Mayor Sly and all of his acolytes. Like most bullies they're pretty quick to back down and honestly, there are far tougher people in this town who also don't care for Mayor Sly's Tax And Spend Administration.
DEVELOPING . . .
Hey there, TKC. You supported this jerk, simply because he was black. Well, why don't you like him now? Too bad, you should be careful what you wish for. See: Obama, the Police Chief and all the other glorious black "leaders". Leaders my ass.
ReplyDeleteoooh... tony is taking the gloves off, huh? i'm sure he's just quiverin' in his shoes.
ReplyDeleteTony makes good points.
ReplyDeleteAre they factual?
Does his indictment of the Mayor and his administration, while ringing true (At least for me.)actually reveal an administration that still believes that we re in boom times vis a vis the 4 year recession?
I think ya gotta take his criticism seriously and see what the truth is.
I am in no way qualified to do that, but a first blush, it seems his criticism is relevant.
You elected him.
ReplyDeleteThis money will be used for Kyle's bail.
ReplyDeleteTony: do you even pay taxes?
ReplyDeleteShhh Tony. Be quiet. The Mayor's people aren't back from Latteland yet.
ReplyDeleteHow many times are we going to be TAXED for infrastructure improvements before they actually DO them?
ReplyDeleteI'm a pro-tax guy. In my opinion, it's the price we pay or the privilege of the high standard of living we enjoy and are free to pursue.
ReplyDeleteIf over the years City Hall had shown even a passing interest in managing its' resources wisely, helping neighorhoods an keeping its promises, I'd give this proposal some consideration.
But with all the graft, mismanagement, insider dealing, financial boondoggles, bait and switch tactics I've seen the muckymucks pull over the years, I say not just no but *HELL NO*. Let this City rot and burn.
It's like treating cancer. The patient is taken to the edge of death in order to kill the cancer cells and stop the spread of the disease.
The development attorneys, architects, engineering firms, general contractors, organized labor, TIF and tax abatement recipients, business cannibalizers and poachers, and just plain dirty dealing grifters an all go to hell. I'll not give them one more dime of tax revenue to lay their filthy hands on.
And if this tax passes, I'll move my amply and my business out of KCMO without looking back.
Burn this fucker down and run the grifters off. Then the honest folks will be left and will pick up the pieces.
"One toke over the line" comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteThese are bullycrats, plain and simple. They do not live among the people they purport to represent, and they are obsessed with glitzy glamor events and hobnobbing with the REAL money in this town (they know tho they are).
But these politicos are crashing so badly that it opens the door to new leadership.
Jermaine Reed recall, tax increases and downtown toy trains. We shall see who laughs last.
The VOTERS are coming. That is Sly & The Gang's worst case scenario, by the way, the one where people actually wake up and start caring. And sometimes it takes a giant D-bag crapping all over your face before you get angry enough to participate.
Well, the shit is hitting the fan. We'll see if people have enough energy left in them to change the paradigm and vote these Idiots out of office.
I am in the 3rd District.

ReplyDeleteWell said.
Sorry for the spelling and grammar errors in my post at 7:30.
ReplyDeleteTyping fast trying to keep up with stream of consciousness.
But I think the point came across.
Wow, either the world is coming to an end or hell has arrived in frigid glory. After all the shit I've given the guy I find myself in agreement with JW. Who knew?
ReplyDelete7:30 and 7:34 are both exactly right and their anger about the insdiers, grifters, racial extortionists, and bait-and-switch tactics are also on the money, but the long sad history of elections in KCMO shows that by the time the voters get a chance to express their anger or concern, somehow all the shenanigans have been forgotten, the motivations have cooled, and the usual consultants have mounted yet another campaign to both scare and lie to people, not many voters turn out, and the whole thing starts over again.
ReplyDeleteThat's why there's no bi-state cooperation; because residents and officials in other jurisdictions see this clearly and don't want anything to do with it.
Maybe this time the folks in KCMO will fianlly do something about the status quo.
That's the most truth I've seen written in one blog stream ever. I can't improve on what's been said but I will focus on one point and that is the bait and switch of the proposed tax increase. That is a fact. High level officials have been told that they will run a campaign on mother, apple pie, and neighborhoods, safety yada yada and the money will fund the streetcar efforts, maybe downtown hotel and whatever else they are promising every other special interest group they need to support it. Bring in new revenue using something the voters can support and shifting funds out of those line items to fund what they really want but wouldn't pass. They have raided the staff of the people who provide service and have left the sewers and streets to rot. They could care less about the murder rate which limits where you can go safely in this city by the day. The city is not better off under this leadership, the Scotch is just better quality.
ReplyDeleteIt is another effort to provide TIF with a new revenue stream.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor's plan will just go up in cigar smoke and not one thing will get fixed. Don't fall for it KC! I am so glad I moved out of the city.
ReplyDelete7:50 and 8:33 ar right on he money.
ReplyDeleteSly will tell the City Council to get on board or be left out.
The City Council members will send that message out to their neighborhoods and constiuencies.
"If you support this tax you will get (X) and have a shot at getting (Y). Of course, we can't make any promises (heh heh heh) but there's something here for everyone and I'm sure there will be plenty there for you, too."
The voters will respond by saying, "Well right now we have nothing and no hope of getting anything. But at least if we support this tax we have a shot at getting *something*. So we may as well support this."
And the tax will pass, giving more power to those who have already shown what they do with what they got (i.e. make insider deals to benefit "preachers" and grifters; TIF huge projects that underperform and cannibalize the already fragile tax base; throw away money on plastic saxophones, Citadels and GIZs; give away money to every developer with a pulse; promise projects that never happen, like people-movers at the airport, Beacon Hill, and a pro franchise at the Spint Center; and pay multi-million dollar settlements for the shitty handling of employees and projects).
So tell me Mr. Mayor, given this history of entrenched interests and broken promises and underperforming projects (when they get built at all), why should the voters have any inclination that this time, with this tax, things will be any different?
TKC hates suburbia.....TKC hates KCMO....will he be forced to move over the line into KCKS?
ReplyDeleteNowhere to run to TKC, nowhere to hide.
Maybe it's because neighborhoods like Montgall, and the people who live in them, are irrelevant. When they become self-sustaining and responsible, maybe City Hall will give a shit.
ReplyDeleteAfter the wasteful spending of the last year, there isn't a chance I'm going to vote for any tax increases put forward by this council or mayor.
ReplyDeletePeople are stupid. And Sly and the Family Stoners know it.
ReplyDeleteI'd vote yes for it if the money was used to Investigate City Hall and see what kind of embezzlement, extortion, and other white collar crime is occurring. And why city water department crews still sleep on the job, work one hour than take a two hour break, or basically get paid a full days income for two hours work, than leave the jobs half done or unfinished.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of guys with smiles like that. They hang out at men's rooms in the park or they are selling insurance door to door and their pet phrase is "Trust Me"
ReplyDeleteNO NEW TAXES
ReplyDeleteagreed!
ReplyDeleteFunk Wins.
ReplyDeleteStreetcar will be the most efficient in the nation because running empty costs less than a full load of KC Fat Asses.
