ReplyDeleteThis isn't "news" at all. Good old Rev. Miles and at least one of his sidekicks are at every meeting of the Police Board, usually with his finger stabbing the chest of Jermaine Reed or some other politico.
ReplyDeleteWhat passes for leadership on the east side are either the gang of racial extortionists, grifters, and insiders like Miles, or the "I marched with Martin" crowd from the '60s, still stuck in the victimization-entitlement mentality of blaming everyone else and demanding that someone come in and make things better.
It's no wonder the young people don't have anyone to follow and the responsible parents have a real challenge on their hands trying to help their kids find a route between those two sets of duds and the thug mentality as another alternative.
And the city government, media, business community, and even the churches are too cowardly to stand up and call out names, even as their neighborhoods collapse and the east side empties out.
Let's have another vigil!
