Regarding a situation in South Kansas City this afternoon:
On 3/13/2012, at approximately 11:02 a.m., officers were called to the area of James A Reed Rd and Booth on an outside disturbance, party armed with a gun.
While in route, the call was updated several times with the locations and descriptions of approximately 3 to 4 suspects armed in the area. Callers advised there were also shots being fired. Officers responded to the area and took one person into custody in the backyard of a residence. Officers were alerted to an address where one or more of the armed suspects were hiding inside. The residence was surrounded by tactical officers. At 12:56 p.m. an Operation 100 was called. Three males, three females and two children exited the residence. It is unknown at this time if other suspects may be inside.
