TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! TAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE KANSAS CITY, KANSAS LIVESTRONG SPORTING PARK UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!

Because fans of this blog KICK-ASS and strangely they're also fans of SPORTING KC . . . I was able to get an advanced preview of The NEW LIVESTRONG SPORTING PARK IN KCK.

For me, it was better than the virtual tour online.

Check out the field . . . There will be a cover for concerts, but it's a far cry from the team's old digs, a lot more lush and the seats are CLOSER to Major League Soccer than Kansas City has ever seen.

Interestingly, check out the stage in the soccer stadium . . . They'll have shows in the stadium that seats 18k, cover the grass and host probably one of the premiere outdoor event venues in Kansas City.

TKC FUN FACT . . . Did you know soccer season lasts LONGER than baseball season? So, there will be a great many opportunities for folks to check out this venue in a variety of different ways.

The lights have already been installed . . . I just liked this shot, unlike the old stadium . . . The LIVESTRONG KCK STADIUM will shield fans from the sunlight far more effectively.

TKC even took a tour into the Stadium underbelly which was kinda cool.

Expect handrails on this climb to the east side of the stadium . . . But I liked this shot because it looks like something out of Flash Gordon.

Construction workers at the complex are keeping track of their progress . . . THE OPENING DATE IS JUNE 9TH!!! Which is a lot closer than anybody thinks . . .

Here's a shot of the VIP section . . . You'll be able to see the players prep and come out of the locker room . . . For those with the cash, it's a nice way to get up close and personal with the team.

ANOTHER TKC FACT . . . SPORTING KC HAS ALREADY SOLD 10K SEASON TICKETS AND COUNTING!!!

Despite my cousins in Mexico seem to adore the game, I don't really get it and have yet to go to a game. . . However, that stat was impressive no matter what kind of even we're talking.

Here's the locker room they're working on . . . Another FACTOID FROM THE TOUR . . . THE SPORTING KC LOCKER ROOM WILL FEATURE CERNER MED TECHNOLOGY AND MONITOR THE VITALS OF PLAYERS WHO LOG ON TO THEIR SYSTEM!!!

There's going to be some major tech in play for Sporting KC . . . Every player is going to get an iPad and data sent directly to the locker room will include clips and other scouting tips.

This was just an encouraging sign that I noticed . . . Kinda makes me lament Kansas City Proper lost out on this site thanks to incompetent leadership from KCMO City Hall.

This is another big deal . . . General Admission seats offer access to The Sporting KC Soccer Club where inexpensive stadium food is served up along with an open look at the field . . . The Sporting KC Club will be open year round and its the town's first BIG DEAL soccer bar . . . Besides Eddie Delahunt playing Manchester United Games in the morning at his coffee spot.

FINALLY . . . TAKE A LOOK AT THE NEW AND IMPROVED CAULDRON FOR KANSAS CITY'S MOST ARDENT SOCCER FANS!!!

I've never seen a game from here but I understand The Cauldron is a pretty big deal despite the fact that names don't really mach up any longer  . . . Nevertheless, this part of the stadium should always be the most lively during match-ups.

Finally, take a look at this quick clip featuring Dave Borchartdt, Sporting Kansas City Public Relations dude talking about the upcoming Grand Opening.

In the final analysis, this new stadium will take Sporting Kansas City out of the doldrums when it comes to MLS attendance rankings. Even more importantly, it looks to be yet another economic engine for Kansas City, Kansas.

  1. That whole area in KCK, is a testimony to what a GREAT Mayor can accomplish. Carol Marinovich. Carol left Young Reardon in great shape. Now what can we say about The Funk and Sly?

  2. Not to worry, Tee! John Sharp is one the job with a new Bannister project. In no time at all, the taxpayers will be on the hook for yet another financil loser.
But the e-tax will hlep pay the bonds for the next twenty years, so who really cares if there's not money for basic services?
    And the losers keep whining!

  3. I already bought by stadium box seats for the inagural game off of craigslist from a guy named jsharp. Hope they are valid.

  4. that is cold. Thanks John, Mark and Gloria.

  5. You fags are such KCK shills. I read this article and was like, hmm, TKC seems awfully optimistic about the 816. Then I saw it was KCK and realized the angle.

Typical. Move there if its so fucking great Tony. If not, STFU.

  6. That stadium was supposed to be here. Fucking shame.

  7. Great job, tony. Great work.

  8. its just a matter of time before asshole Tony calls this a fail. All he does. He is a pussy punk fucker that rags on everything he is not. Game on fucker.

  9. probably right but i like these photos.

  11. Another Midtown Mom4/13/11, 5:49 AM

This stadium should have been in KCMO.

  12. Should've, would've, could've.
When you elect incompetent self-important losers to represent you and only 20% of the eligible voters participate, that's what you end up with. And it's been that way for decades, including the latest hosing KCMO residents gave themselves with the e-tax.
All the surrounging cities will continue to eat KCMO's lunch until they develop an actual city government that addresses basic issues like public safety and at least tries to provide a positive enviroment for both businesses and residents.
Let's see what Mayor James' administration will do, but he has an awful lot of status quo grifters and hangers-on to get rid of first.

  13. It's worse than fanboy. This is the very definition of a FANBOI. Nice work on the transformation.

  14. Truth be told the stadium was paid for by KCK taypayers, and the KCK Mayor now wants an ETax to pay for basic services they have no money to pay for.

JoCo wins again, they get all the tickets and a big league metro area without paying a dime!

  15. I'm surprised you would feature this, Tony.

After all, isn't this something that Kansas "stole" from its rightful owner, Missouri?

Missouri is supposed to have all the attractions and all the businesses, isn't it? I think it's written in the Bible somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think there should be a special tax on residents of Kansas City, Mo., to help KCK and Kansas pay for this new stadium.

After all, Missourians will be driving on our Kansas roads to get there. They'll probably be throwing trash out on the roadside, and using our police, fire and ambulance.

    Hahahaha

    ReplyDelete
  17. The governor of Kansas should have demanded that this stadium be built in MISSOURI!

How dare Kansans promote their own state without regard to poor, pitiful Kansas City, Mo., the blind, crippled giant of the metro!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yay suburbia.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Corporate welfare, no matter the side of the state line, is bullshit. You anti-etax fags should realize this, but you are too one-track to have any common sense.

The point is that KCK *should* enjoy its taxpayer funded stadium as much as KCMO will enjoy its taxpayer funded NFL stadium while the owners gripe about having to share a sliver of the BILLIONs in profits with the players.

You tards can have all the corporate welfare you want. Look at KCMO if you need help understanding how well it pays off. If you are too stupid to learn from the mistakes on the Missouri side, then you truly are hopeless.
