JACKSON COUNTY STRUGGLES TO PAY FOR REGIONAL JAIL!!!

The Examiner hosts a great article regarding a last minute temporary solution to county budget problems involving a one-time windfall for the sale of piece of land. Meanwhile, there's quite a bit of worry given an upcoming $700,000 to $800,000 shortfall in the Department of Corrections. The article blames increased costs for the regional jail for most of the funding shortfall while I still think money for the Chiefs is at the heart of the issue.

What happened to all the money that was supposed to be saved with the MCI and Jackson County Jail consolidation? So far, the city has asked for an additional $1.3 million and now the county will need another million.

Guess KCPD knew something the city and the county did not know! They elected to pass on the "Misdeal of the Century.
