Never mind that the Mayor doesn't really have any plan to get rid of the E-tax.
Let's forget that he didn't meet with local state lawmakers when he was making his E-tax remarks.
What's most entertaining is that once again he has managed to unite the City Council against him with his off-the-cuff E-Tax speculation. Even worse, off the record members of the City Council are calling his E-tax suggestions "completely irresponsible."
Look for even more pushback from the Council on Mayor Funky's silly pronouncements . . .

I'm guessing that Mayor Funky won't like what they have to say . . . Then again, the Mayor is so totally focused on re-election . . . And critics say he's using his office to than end . . . That I doubt he has time to notice what anyone else in this cowtown is thinking.

Hey Louie Wright, your boy Funkhouser wants to cut city revenues by at least 40 percent with an E-Tax repeal, which will make paying high wages to your members pretty damn difficult.

Who cares what the Chamber of Commerce thinks? Just a bunch of special interest business making money off the taxpayers. The active members are a bunch of PR and government affairs people who only know the influence game. They don't understand nor do they care about how real business works.

I don't understand where this myth of the high paid Local 42 member comes from, other than from whiners that don't like Louie. I'm in 42s and I will tell you that our benefits, wages having been frozen for 3 years, our health care, having gone up significantly, are nothing special.
It would bolster your cause if you people had some facts to back your tired claims.
Does Louie support repealing the earnings tax?
Local 42 gets 80% of their wages when they retire. Local 500 70%. (and soon to be smaller if our money is used up to pay for Local 42 pension fund. That will happen when MAST is fully integrated into City Hall, under fire.) Thanks Troy Schulte. You are carrying the mayor's water REAL nice.

Just another reason to flee KC proper. I'd rather pay higher property taxes to have educated children in my city than the thugtards growing up in KCMO.
And we non-union employees only get 60% when we retire!
And Local 42 wages have NOT been frozen for 3 years, you liar!
If you think about it, it is still cheaper to live in KCMO and pay e-tax than to pay the outrageous personal and real property taxes in JoCty! I'd rather pay $500 in e-tax than $1,000 more in proerty tax. . .
