TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! READERS COMPLAIN OVER CENSORSHIP ON THE STAR'S MIDWEST VOICES BLOG!!!

This morning The Star was touting their "award winning" opinion section. Too bad the prize was given to them by an association comprised of other dead tree media outlets . . . Once again, these Newspaper honors are akin to dinosaurs complimenting one another or passengers of the Titanic holding contests for how long they can hold their breath. These honors are nothing more than an exercise in futility. Meanwhile, and more importantly . . .
TO DATE, MORE THAN A HALF A DOZEN READERS OF THE STAR'S "MIDWEST VOICES" BLOG ARE COMPLAINING THAT THEIR COMMENTS HAVE BEEN CENSORED NOT BECAUSE THEY VIOLATE ANY TERMS OF SERVICE BUT SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE CRITICAL OF STAR COLUMNISTS!!!
Two things . . .
1. I'm surprised that half a dozen people read The Star's opinion blog.
b. Most of the criticism and subsequently deleted comments are directed at Yael T. Abouhalkah.
Exactly as I suspected, former giants of the Dead Tree Media world are having a hard time adjusting to the rough and tumble digital era of Internet publishing. Anony people aren't nice and their comments are mostly worthless . . . However, I've always believed that anyone who enjoys freedom of speech must also provide a forum for a response.
Despite an ongoing Ad page decline, decreasing revenues and even more layoffs on the way . . . The Star is chasing away readers because their columnists can't take the heat. Meanwhile, local bloggers seem more adept at handling criticism than their big media counterparts.

Yael is a prolific blowhard. I wish there was a way to delete him off the feed. Although I consider myself open minded, his heavy handed liberalism grows tiring.
yeah, and how about the time when the rich brat from just off Ward Parkway killed someone when he was driving drunk and they wouldn't let us working class stiffs say a damn thing about the total piece of shit? They wouldn't let us write anything at all, the cowards. Defame his name? oh, hell yeah, but I'd have kept mine clean, after doing that.
Mo Rage
the blog
One Curtis Mertensmeyer. Yeah. Him.
that's right up there with the pitch editor juding KC Press Awards. Duh!!!
Yael T Abouhalkah... the past Master of the House (see Les Miserables). How ironic is it that this past Lion of the Press would become known as a news guy who practiced censorship?
I am one of the victims of his censorship, disdain, hubris and heavy handedness.
Luckily, he has become mostly irrelevant. Few page views and less posts (not including the posts that he censors).
Other than thanking Tony Botello for bringing this point into public view (or at least the blogging community), I ask:
WHAT SAY YE yael t abouhalkah ABOUT THIS?
P.S. In one of his replies to an e-mail communication I had with him (yta), I think its fair to say that Yael told me that Midwest Voices and/or the blog of yta wouldn't allow a post/reply I submitted because it contained the word censorship.
I wonder if it's time to commission a yael t abouhalkah Bobblehead to stand next to the Feckless Funkhouser Bobblehead?
Let's get Jeff Roe on this!!! Jeff, it's time to muzzle Abouhalkah.
MUZZLE HIM!!!
it's funny because tony broke his arm this fall patting himself on the back so hard. the fucking papers, TV and hollywood faggots all do it. who fucking cares? ignore this shit and be a better person.
yawn. Guess this is what you put on your blog on a slow newsday.
I don't have such a standard. If I dont have something good to post, I just wait a day.
And I have as much fun posting HERE as on my own blog. But there, I can control presentation better, with photos, ability to edit, etc.
I put my best post in weeks in the radio room today. I may have to go cut and paste it to my own blog. I'ts about twiting. sigh maybe tomorrow.
Tony: During your "interview" with your chum Herne, you admitted to deleting comments just because someone asked you to do so:

Tony -
“I’ve had a couple of requests to, or someone will see something that maybe libelous or somebody fakes somebody else’s identity - I don’t have a problem taking the down.”
Sounds like you play loose and fast. So how is this NOT censorship?
probably because Tony doesn't give a fuck and he doesn't pretend to be a newspaper.
Hypocrite.
Worse than removing comments is EDITING them. You've done that to my posts more than once, Tony.
sign your comments shitbag and Tony can only delete them and not edit them. You suck balls. this whole post is stupid.
The Star does that on all their blogs not just Midwest Voices.
On their Back to Rockville blog they had a post noting the newest inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I posted 2 commments. One was critical of Jan Wenner and Rolling Stone magazine and their continued duplicity in their selections to the HoF. In less than 5 minutes it had disappeared into the ether.
The Star does not like anyone being critical of them or anyone else in the print media.
I know it really doesn't matter and besides, it is the Kansas Shitty Star we're talking about, but it's amazing how much time they spend removing posts that they don't agree with, especially the time they spend deleting posts that have nothing to do with them or their business.
