TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! RACE CARD ALREADY A FACTOR IN THE UPCOMING KANSAS CITY ELECTION CYCLE!!!
Here's just a bit of a preview which attempt to provide a look at how Kansas City's divisive politics will be played out during the next election.
Primarily . . .
EVERYONE EXPECTS THE GREAT WHITE NORTHLAND TO DOMINATE KANSAS CITY POLITICS IN THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS!!!
They point to the growing population and influence in at-large races which might give this voting bloc even more power . . . TKC FACT: A mix of Union, Republican, New Money and low income Northlanders don't know how to vote when both candidates are white. Count on white female candidates to completely offset this part of town working together.
IS THERE AN EASTSIDE POLITICAL RENAISSANCE UNDERWAY?!?!?
Maybe. But count on some intense debate between The Revs. and more (strictly) politically motivated leadership for control of this voting bloc which has had more obvious influence over KC elections in recent years . . . TKC NOTE: Mrs. Alvin Brooks had a point (as horrible as it was), when she noted that if the African-American Community had really supported her husband, he would have won easily.
MAYOR FUNKY CAN'T COURT REACTIONARY TALK RADIO LISTENERS AND THE URBAN CORE AT THE SAME TIME!!!
Mayor Funky needs to pick a side right now. The options aren't good either. Mayor Funky can't (futilely) attempt to mend fences South of the River or rely completely on the Northland vote that's already split between him and Mike Burke.
Also, Gloria Squitiro reported that Tara is "back" in town and maybe that will better explain the African-American dude they've been hiding in their attic for the past year. Like or not, that'll be a campaign issue if only through back channels.
More importantly, Chris Stigall can't win an election for Mayor Funky . . . Mostly because his few listeners live in the backwoods and outside of KC Proper.
EXPECT A REAL FIGHT FOR THE EASTSIDE AMONG SLY JAMES AND TERRY RILEY!!!
Sly is already expecting that his "white wife" will be a petty campaign issue. Meanwhile Riley has more grassroots connections in this part of town while James works at the Fundraiser level . . . It should be an interesting discussion of authenticity that just might devolve into racial politics. Sly promises not to go there . . . He might have to in order to win.
And in all of this everybody typically forgets about the Latino Vote despite the fact that Mayor Funky's closest advisers admit it was a Westside Community Center debate the propelled him to victory. Nevertheless, there are only going to be more Latinos in this town voting as local politics continues to segment and becomes even more divisive.

TKC I think your piece is accurate but for your analysis of Sly and Terry. African American candidates like Sly James have historically done next to zero in the African American community. Going as far back as 1991 when JoAnne Collins finished 5th or 6th with almost no black support, through the two Janice Ellis debacles...if Riley runs Sly will not even sniff the general.
Doubt it. Black people are NOT voting for Terry Riley just because he's black. Besides, he'll be in jail behind the Citadel Plaza mess anyway.
You need to get out more often. The Northland hasn't been the "Great White Northland" for quite some time.
Our wonderful lowlife scumbag apartment owners have done a magnificent job turning their old and never been remodeled complexes into Section 8 housing. These places have become the hideout of choice for the discriminating OG and banger.
Our run down neighborhoods over off Brighton and off Chouteau are bright shining beacons that call out and beckon our Latin American brothers and sisters to bring all 50 of their family members and move into a house.
You be remiss if you also failed to take in account the swarm of low-life scumbags from CrimeDotte who make Clay and Platte counties their everyday shopping destinations. It's fairly easy to tell where they like to shop. Just look for the blue uniform's of the KCPD and the locked down meat and liquor departments.

Terry is going to do some talking or try not to do some talking and that is the last of him --NO run for City Hall after the Citadel investigation hands out the orange suits.
It is most interesting that with all the voting along racial lines, if you ask any Citywide candidate, they want one man running their campaign: Chris Moreno.
The Latin Godfather is hands down the best political strategist in the Midwest. Everyone wants Moreno to take over their campaign as soon as he takes back the House for Governor Nixon.
There is no denying it that Chris Moreno is a force to be courted in this city and region.
Vincente, we all look forward to the results of the next census report which will a long way to either confirming what you wrote or exposing you as a feckless blogger.

1108AM... Tony has posted this observation many times over the last year. Some of the bloggers have confirmed this ironic little tidbit.
Most of us don't care. But it seems that Miss Tara has sampled the dark juice and as the saying goes, may not want to go back.

Dave-0, On the issues that are most important to people from that community (stealing their childrens future, grabbing what they can from the municipal piggy bank and selling their souls for breadcrumbs distributed by the powerful local resident evil white demons (actually I would be some of those demons live in JOCO) Sly James is well versed. Even his newest friend, Tony B hasn't claimed that Sly represents a force for positive change for his own community and/or any one else. I don't know him at all but from what I read but he seems to be sort of like an African American Art Benson.
If Tara ia really back full time, then we all better hope that Big Jeff Roe MUZZELS HER as well.

12:56, when you see two dropouts from the Special Olympics argue about something, just stand back and enjoy the cripple fight. There's no point in trying to rationalize what these people do.
There's a reason Tony constantly whines about Stigall and why Stigall never mentions Tony. It's call having a job and an audience.
I'd hire Chris Moreno hands down and watch him spank any other strategist in this state.
