TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY CONCERNED CLERGY PLAN TO PUT ON A BIG SHOW OVER CAUTHEN FIRING DURING AN UPCOMING COUNCIL SESSION!!!

Kansas City is soon to see the opening act of a great show. The fallout from the ouster of City Manager Wayne Cauthen continues . . .
CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME MEMO COURTESY OF KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS!!! THE KANSAS CITY CONCERNED CLERGY DEMAND ANSWERS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL OVER THE CAUTHEN SUSPENSION!!!
Two important facts to remember . . . Not all of the African-American community is aligned with Cauthen but if the KC CCC can get enough momentum going . . . This could be very interesting.

From: The Concerned Clergy Coalition
Once again our city finds itself in a negative spot light. It is our position that the reason for this negative light could have and should have been avoided. We believe the handling of the Wayne Cauthen suspension was an embarrassment and the morally wrong way for city government to be conducted. The cities top employee certainly deserved to be let go with much more dignity and respect.
We do not question the ability of the Mayor to make his decision to terminate. It has been well known what could happen once he had the votes. However to make such a serious decision without the voters being given a voice, and without the entire council having a civil discussion in closed session, was not in the best interest of the city.
We stand together with many other community groups: The Baptist Ministers Union, The Methodist Minister Fellowship, A Call To Oneness, NAACP, Freedom Inc, The Black Agenda Group, Ad Hoc Against Crime and others, to respectfully ask that the Mayor offer a resolution of apology to the citizens of Kansas City and to Wayne Cauthen for the immoral and embarrassing way he was suspended and escorted out of city hall.
We also request that the City Council members, who previously supported the city manager, by renewing his contract, give an explanation of the reason for the change in their support.
Finally we ask that the current employees and programs in the city manager’s office be retained until a resolution or permanent city manager replacement is found.
We would like for the resolution and explanations to take place at the next City Council Session, Thursday December 3, 2009.
Respectfully Submitted,
Pastor Michael E. Brooks, President
Concerned Clergy Coalition
Also . . . LET'S NOT FORGET THAT MAYOR PRO TEM BILL SKAGGS WILL BE IN CHARGE DURING THE NEXT COUNCIL SESSION!!!
Skaggs is not up for re-election . . . He's an old school Missouri politico and THE MOST AWESOME AND WELL INFORMED TKC TIPSTERS are saying, "He's not going to have a problem putting the gavel down on this circus act."
The end result is that Kansas City will become even further divided and this ongoing drama will most likely thwart even a hiNt of progress at City Hall . . . And yes, like the coward that he is: We hear Mayor Funky will be out of town and unable to take the heat on this one. So goes the "Orange Revolution" as once again this town has been failed by so many local politicos. Natch.

A circus is right.
Dey be getting dem bow ties ready.
Let them talk as long as they want. Wayne and Chuck are gone. Wayne should now be able to tell Kansas City about those one-sided contracts with Cordish.
what an amazing waste of time. Let's hope you are right for once Tony and Skaggs does tell them to STFU.

Wow - these poor people write, spell and parse sentences as poorly as you, Tony.
Their reasoning abilities are also less than adequate.
You should give them a venue here; what do you say?
If I were an African American resident of KC I would be embarassed to have these so called "men of the cloth" speaking for me. Cauthen never gave a sh*t about the east side of town, the only thing he had in common with these reverends was skin color.
These Pharasees need to spend time teaching their congegations about the concept of family... and commitment to their young.
That's what's killed the black American community and it won't be back until they learn how to raise their young.
And Skaggs will once again be labeled a racist when in reality it is the God fearing Black Clergy who are racist! It would be fun to be at the pearly gates and watch the entrance exams!
Meanwhile, their congregants and congregants' family members are KILLING each other. If they spent nearly as much time trying to help solve and prevent violent crimes as they do crying foul at perceived racism, KC would be the safest city in America.
It is not the City Manager's responsibility to develop east of Troost. It is his job to carry out the plans of the City Council. He works for the Council the Council does not work for him. It pisses me off to hear people say that Cauthen did not give a damn about east of Troost when the fact of the matter is that no one on the Council gave him a plan east of Troost. Those blacks who wanted him gone only wanted him gone because they could not shake him down for a contract.
Most of the credible leadership of the black community supports the decision to terminate the City Manager. The likelihood of that group getting any of their demands is nil. Such an outcome is commensurate with their clout.
When this city clearly overused TIF, Super TIF and modessa to develop areas that were not blighted, then we get this stink hole. There is only so much development money.
Tony,
Go ahead and file this under "Who's gives a shit?".
And Radioman, before you tell people how they should spend their time, why don't you spend your time learning how to spell in English.
It would be time well spent.
Again people making a racist issue when it's not a racist issue! Must be talking with TKC for pointers!
Actually there is not the mention of race ONCE in this note. Not even from Tony. It is the racists from the North land and Funkhouser who want to divide kansas City into black and white.
Since when is the voting public ever given a voice with regard to the hiring/firing of a city manager? Never, that's when. I agree with previous posters STFU! PS - no other manager has been treated this way because they all resigned voluntarily rather than force this kind circus atmosphere - oh, and they all wanted another job in the future, which clearly Cauthen doesn't want/can't get. What a pathetic plea to keep the waynettes around by demanding no changes until a new city manager is found. Pathetic all the way around!
The poster above me just nailed it. Kimiko Gilmore, former staffer for Claire McCaskill and current Assistant City Manager hired by Cauthen this summer, is the wife of one of the members of this group, Rev. David Gilmore, Senior Pastor of Centennial United Methodist Church. Rev. Gimore is retired from the military. The church's membership mainly consists of senior citizens on fixed incomes. Kimiko is the bread winner for that family. Her salary increased two-fold with her new job. Now that Cauthen is out, what will they do? Can she go back to work for McCaskill or perhaps her old boss Terry Riley?
Thalia Cherry and Ava Gardner more than likely have ties to this group as well, which is why they are insisting on retaining their jobs until a new City Manager is hired. Regardless, they are going to have to go, so why put off the inevitable? The gig is up. The gravy train is gone. Were the Waynettes walked out of the building?
Where were these people on the MAST issue? No public vote, and the black community is a huge beneficiary of the EMS services.
Where were these people on the light rail vote that the council overturned? That too would have been a big benefit to the east side and the black community to have access to public transport?
The motivations seem pretty weak. If you're not going to stand up when the city railroads through a takeover of EMS or throws away a voter-approved light rail plan, you can't play high and mighty with your accusations of moral and ethical misconduct when its selectively applied to issues.
Kudos to anonymous 6:13pm
Dear fuckwads of the Concerned Clergy Coalition. Shut your useless traps. This is government business. unless you want to start paying taxes on your church business YOU HAVE NO FUCKING SAY.
The Black Agenda Group. That pretty much says it all, doesn't it?
I'm voting for Sly.
Fuck ya'll
Sly stay strong, because we know that Pat O'Neill will gut you with attack mailings on Burke's behalf.
If there is a chance for Funky to be mean and hateful you know he will do it. He is just a hateful shell of a man. He has no sole one day he will have to answer for all his bad deeds and it will not be pretty.
Let the Eastside burn in its own stew of violence and corruption.
I will remember to throw the trash out of my car window when I am over that way.
9:32pm why would you jump out of your own car.
9:59 - if we were 8, that would be funny. Now it's just sad. Unless you are 8.
Anon 5:54... are you nuts? One commenter throws in the racist word and you automatically assume it's a Northland person that you then label racist. You sound like Steve Glorioso...in otherwords... like a race-baiting idiot.
These east side ministers (if you can call them that) are black mafia. Stupid black mafia that is. They stand by as their congregations get culled by idiots and crack-heads. A proper boss would make sure that the money keeps coming into their operation. The crack heads would be the ones taken down, not the good offering giving folks filling their egos and their wallets.
Niggers fuck up everything. Even the ones that pretend to be chosen by God to do his works.
No one racial group owns the ability to f*** up this City... that is plain to see. It doesn't matter what color you are, or if you wear a collar, you can still be bad news. Look around... there are examples everywhere.
But to Anon. 6:13... you really nailed it on this issue.
What do you think should be done now, Tony?
I probably should have posted this here.
I live on the East Side and feel the firing of Cauthen was an excellent move. No, Cauthen has no allengence to the black community, if everyone remember, he was hired by Kay Barnes to eliminate programs in the black community to build the cordish project down town. When the Mayor took office, he (like every mayor before him) had the RIGHT TO HIRE THE CITY MANAGER OF HIS/HER CHOICE. This right was taken away from him and this community went straight to hell. . and what's worse the brown people are not allowed to visit/shop the cordish project. No new construction, no curbs or sidewalks, no rehab programs - everything is at a standstill, and this DUDE is doing a good job?? Cauthen should have been put out of this position long ago. GOOD RIDANCE!!
Why do the 4th District Council people hate black people?
