The bad news for Kansas City is twofold . . . Local streets will remain screwed up AND more people will be out of work . . . OR Show Me How Local Government (and infrastructure) Stay Losing!!!

No problem. I am sure we will see Mayor Steel Plate walking around town filling potholes, removing the steel plates and, during lull moments spreading salt when it snows (although it is unclear how much money the Funk and Council have made available for this necessary municipal function/service).

Most wage employees will be layed off and MoDOT has been cutting it's own budget for the last 10 years since the failure of the 15 year plan in the 90's.
This happens every year around this time. They're called seasonal employees.

Seasonal at MoDot means 6 months from the date you were hired. I am one of those idiots. I was assured there would be a permanent position for me after my 6 months were up, instead I got 4 months!! Someone might want to check into how many card players there are up at the district office with nothing to do! And just how many egineers it takes to change a light bulb!!!
