Teaching Co-Mayor Gloria Squitiro
Here's a bit of follow-up to recent Internets news on the status of Gloria Squitiro's Triumphant Return to City Hall.
Apparently, Squitiro would have to submit to training if she wanted to bring her barefeet back into Mayoral Business at the City's Epicenter of power and not just handing down edicts to her husband from Brookside.
"Gloria Squitiro has yet to take the training she would need to take to return as a full-time volunteer in the City Hall office of her husband, Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser.Of course this training has yet to be developed but I'm sure it would involve guidance on proper footwear and maybe a note to keep racial slurs to a minimum.
Earlier this year a state judge threw out provisions of a city ordinance passed in September 2008 that barred Squitiro from serving as a full-time volunteer in the mayor's office on the 29th floor.
The courts did uphold the portion of the ordinance that requires "regular service" voluntees in the offices of elected or appointed officials to undergo training."

Meanwhile, I'm guessing that this report keeps Squitiro at bay in Brookside where she hopefully has stopped beating Kansas City's Mayor considering her recent admission that she has has "hit Funk more times" than she can bare.

in nearly every workplace i've ever been employed, someone (always a woman - and yes, i'm female) thinks it's okay to walk around barefoot.
this often includes propping bare feet on a desk.
ugh, ugh, ugh. do they really not know what detritus shoes protect us from?
I think they can both "bear" squit beating funk'd. Does send a wrong message to the kids, though. Having Andrew "beg like a dog" to squit, asking mayor's staff to "beg" for office perks like Sprint Center tickets sends the wrong message to EVERYONE. Why did all of the staff, except Bates, go along with this dehumanizing treatment? Just because squit was/is abusive at home doesn't make it right. Sending the kid away from home before his classes started because funk'd said he couldn't "protect him from Gloria and Tara" is plain child neglect. Pure evil. The kid didn't deserve to be treated like shit. He is a good person.
Lots of bosses are abusive to their employees.
The problem here is that these are not HER employees to abuse. She doesn't have employees because she doesn't have a job.
She's not welcome or wanted at City Hall - which is why City Hall has moved from downtown to 57th Ter. Shame on anyone who has agreed to meet with the Funk anywhere other than at City Hall. To agree to a meeting at his Brookside house is agreeing to beg like a dog for Gloria.
did they get new furniture? Do they still walk around nekked? If you are FORCED to go to W 57th TER take a towel. Not to wear or to throw on the mayor... although that is a good plan, but to put on the couch before you sit on it. Who knows what that brown stain could be?
