The TKC Saturday Night Playlist!!! After The Fall in Kansas City!!!

It certainly hasn't felt like Fall this weekend but then again nothing in Kansas City really feels authentic upon close inspection.

In fact, this week marks a bit of a turning point in local topsy-turvy politics and culture in the metro. It seems that KC is decidedly pro-tax if a small percentage of the electorate and an even smaller percentage of the populace is to be believed. Also, after consistently losing money with a strategy that includes racial disparity and divisiveness (a.k.a The Mayor Funky Business Model), the public and the press seem weary of supporting the P&L District and their $9 beers.

Still . . . Winter is closer than we all would like to think and a period of (relative) KC hibernation might be at hand (except for the murder rate) . . . While new media never rests, dead tree and other legacy broadcast institutions will undoubtedly begin offering up the standard, stereotypical fare involving urban legends and fantasies of all sorts not limited to stories of world peace and elves.

So, for a glorious moment the Fall seemed to hold a bit of promise (like a reality show star revealing a bit of skin) but now it is gone.

To wit, here are some of my favorite songs dedicated to the season and the long steady march into dead of winter.

As always, thank you for reading this week. Have a safe and fun weekend.

Can we please send Kim George Carlos some more of our tax money as tribute for her work bringing this beautiful weather?

It is only right and proper. We owe everything to her.

Tony,

For being a consistent jerk, this is a great play list. I had never heard of Eva Cassidy, thanks for sharing.
