The Kansas City Missouri School District Paycheck Audit Is A Just Another PR Move

Here's a thought about the upcoming and widely hyped "paycheck audit" that starts today in the KCMSD . . . It's all for show.

There are easier and more effective ways to check the payrolls and determine employees.

Even the decent Star article on the subject this morning hints at the uselessness of this measure with an advance look at the checks to be delivered:
"The discoveries came as staff was figuring out how it would hand-deliver some 3,300 checks this month, said Steve Harris, assistant superintendent of human resources."
Question: If they know how many checks they're cutting . . . Why not start there with their auditing process?

Answer:

SUPERINTENDENT COVINGTON'S PAYCHECK AUDIT IS A STRONG ARM TACTIC AIMED AT SENDING A MESSAGE TO TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS WITH ONLY A MODICUM OF ACCOUNTING BENEFIT!!!

Furthermore . . .

THE AUDIT IS PART OF THE SAME "CULTURE OF BRUISES" THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BRING THE KCMSD TO THIS POINT OF NEAR COLLAPSE!!!

Time and time again, this bullying style of leadership hasn't worked for Kansas City Schools and it's certain to fail this time as well. The countdown to the backlash against Superintendent Covington is already underway for big media as the community interests (hint: And teachers) have already started to work against him.

Developing . . .

Agreed, anonymous. There have been rumors of people being on the payroll--but not doing anything--for years.

Let's find out if it's bogus or true.

Good on ya', Superinendent C.
