COMBAT TAX D-DAY!!!

There are a great many reasons to show up and vote NO on COMBAT TAX renewal . . . Here are just a few of my favorite . . .

  • The audit called for by County Exec. Mike Sanders has yet to materialize.

  • Paid supporters of the Tax dumped all of their signs all over KC public property.

  • More than 800k of this desperately needed COMBAT money is used for the specific purposes of campaigning for the Tax renewal and that makes it a self-perpetuating monster.

  • The COMBAT TAX inadvertently, and hypocritically funds services for illegal immigrants.

  • Voting NO now still gives COMBAT folks time to go back to the drawing board LONG BEFORE funding runs out.

  • The COMBAT Tax didn't stop the Independence Meth boom of the 80's.

  • Crime fighting won't stop because of a lack of COMBAT Tax Money.

  • When the tax was first passed there was A PROMISE IT WOULD BE TEMPORARY.

  • The COMBAT TAX hurts innocent white people!!!

  • With drug courts suspended, the real priority of the tax seems to be putting po'folk and minorities in jail.

  • A big chunk of COMBAT Tax Money goes to TIF.

  • Mike Sanders only seems smart in comparison to Mayor Funky.

There are a great many other reasons to vote against COMBAT Tax renewal. Feel free to add your own . . . It's almost as easy as actually voting.

The No sign at Penn Valley Park and on North Wornall were gone this morning when I drove in. Maybe Sanders is out picking up signs from the right of way and got mixed up as to which signs he put out.

I would love to have had a COMBAT sucks sign.

Another Reason: The Iraq comparison - An insult to our troops.

    Voted No.
    Did my part.
Unfortunately low voter turnout will let this eek by.

My wife and I would have voted for it but we have been sick and tired of the yard signs in public space.

So we both sent a message.

The yard signs everywhere really is an arrogant way to run a campaign. Kind of like saying fuck you public -- you are too dumb to know that we paid someone to put this sign here.

Sanders needs to apologize for Pat O'Neill's racist campaign. Comparing KC to Iraq was way out of line.

This was not just one campaign post card but a theme for the whole campaign. They started out the campaign with the slogan Take Back Our City, which is racist code. O'Neill is a racist swine.

O'Neill is also anti-woman and supports the extremist groups that killed Dr. George Tiller. Pat O'Neill opposes every woman's most intimate rights of privacy and he supports cold blooded murder.

We can only imagine what Pat O'Neill will come up with on behalf of Mike Burke against Sylvester James, who is a respected lawywer who happens to be African-American.

There is no doubt that O'Neill fan the flames of hate. He always does.

When can we get rid of Mike Sanders and all of his stinking garbage? If it wasn't for Funky, Mike Sanders would be exposed as the narcissistic bastard that he really is. It blows my mind that he thought it was a good idea to spend nearly a million dollars on putting this SINGLE ISSUE on the ballot. This is the end of his political career.

Well, heck. If the COMBAT TAX hurts innocent white people that's all the reason I need to vote NO.

Those 'white people' gave an interview on KKFI and didn't *quite* tell the whole truth about their plight - which wasn't related to DART, at all.

Still, I found it amusing that these “lifestyle” Leftists were seeking refuge & redress of grievances under private property rights from the collective tentacles of imperial gub’mint.

Voted NO. Very light turn out. I am sure that the outside agencies gassed up their vans to take their clients to the polls. VOTE ALREADY! unless you are a yes vote.
    If you are a "yes" vote then your voting day is TOMORROW. :}

Pat O'Neill is a good man of high character and morals. The coward who is anonymously posting the venomous lies about Mr. O'Neill will not convince anyone otherwise.

If he has such "high character and morals," why is he involved in JaCo politics? Tell me that, Pat's BFF? He's as dirty as they come.

    I voted NO!

No to taxes. No to degradation. Yes, to rehabilitation!

Compared to Pat Gray, Pat O'Neill could be said to be a man of da da da da da....
    Caution! low bar ahead.

Crap. The thing passed just like it always does. So much for the power of internet activists armed with the truth.

Jackson county loves its slush funds.
