We're all looking forward to tonight's UMKC Obamacare Slapfight!!!

The newsies are going to be out in full force waiting for tea baggers to act a fool during tonight's Claire McCaskill, Obamacare, UMKC hot mess. Also, UMKC is close enough to the East Side for Obama brigades and local churches to dominate the event.

Let's face reality . . . This is simply setting the stage for a nasty fight in which any slight could garner national media attention for Claire McCaskill, Obamacare or the persecution complex of the teabagging set.

As for any kind of progress when it comes to the state of U.S. Healthcare, the chance for any significant change on that topic vanished long ago.

  1. no, no, no. Claire can handle herself. And I think the KC public isn't that disgusting, in this respect. I think it will be a calm, quiet affair. Certainly that's what I hope. I don't want KC on the national news become some hot-headed, ill-mannered, uninformed redneck shoots off his or her mouth because they don't want this "Socialism"--which it ain't, anyway.

    Pray for intelligence to prevail.

  2. I was there. Impressed by McCaskill's crowd handling abilities. Had potential to get out of hand, but it didn't mostly thanks to her.

She invited the choir, and since it was at UMKC, there's plenty of members there.

  4. This is good tpv... unless you just wanted to be entertained by yet another jerry springer food fight.

Me, I want out from under health care woes. I was at the doctor this morning and sitting in the lobby heard a lady be told that she needs to tell blue cross who her 'primary' policy is with because they won't pay until she does.

And another lady having other inurance woes thought her balance due would be $30 after insurance paid, and she was unhappy to learn it was $200. This all really does suck. Enough of that crap. Getting rid of insurance companies will probably allow every doctor in America to reduce their office staff and that, plus dumping all those bureaucrats whose jobs it is to deny benefits, and the others to protect their stock prices... well that in itself will cut costs by what? maybe ten percent?

Lets get it in there and then go the other way, forcing hospitals to quit building five star facilities looking like the Hyatt, and making everybody take MRI's when they don't' need them, buying more drugs at retail after they've already brought them from home, and on and on and on.

A flimsy plastic toy mask costs $4. But if it's dispensed by Apria Health Care to pass oxygen, it's $160! That's why it will cost us a thousand a month in five years for family health insurance!

I always thought big oil, big utilities, and at worst big food companies like Tyson, Con-Agra or Archer-Daniels-Midland would do us in. I didn't realize it'd be Blue Cross, Aetna and Cigna!
