St. Joe Wants To Steal KC High Rollers

St. Joesph, Missouri is tired of losing money to Kansas City so they're playing up their low crime and amenities in order to convince people to stay away from Kansas City.
The number of high-earning workers with families who work in St. Joseph but live in the Kansas City area is disproportionate compared to similar-sized cities.

And the St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce is making a concerted effort to get those workers to live, work and play here.

On Monday, the chamber launched a promotional magazine that expounds on the vitality of St. Joseph and its neighborhoods. The magazine cites low crime, a quality education system and sporting and shopping proximity in and near St. Joseph.
So, in a very real sense Kansas City's continual fail is being used against this town in ways that could easily have a horribly destructive impact.

  2. This is a serious issue. If KCMO doesn't respond to the exodus of high wager earners, the city could be faced with abandoned neighborhoods, poor schools, crumbling infrastructure and higher crime rates.

  3. Yeah, I bet some of them work for the city! Someone told me that Commissioner of Revenue Hadley lived in St. Joe while a city employee. . .
