Funky Time in South Kansas City

Mayor Funky answered a few questions in South KC . . . He provides a limited recap on his blog that might be worth reading for future reference because it demonstrates the guy who is "not a political" doing an awful lot of spinning.

Best example . . . The Mayor was on allegedly 2 WEEK LONG TRAIN TRIP/VACATION THAT LOCAL MEDIA REFUSED TO REPORT during an important vote on 500k for a hotel consultant and deflects the question regarding 500k for a consultant on the upcoming/proposed Kansas City hotel:

"Funkhouser stated that the Ordinance authorizing money for the consultant was approved during his absence. He will remain watchful on the thousand room hotel issue, and should a tax incentive be sought for building such a hotel, he will insist that the Economic Development Plan be followed and on being presented with solid financial proof that such a project will actually benefit the City."

That's an interesting argument. The Mayor dropped the ball, went out of town for an extended stay with his wife but then claims that he'll be responsible in the future . . . People who believe the Mayor's spin deserve exactly what they get . . . Which in South KC hasn't been much but empty talk from Funkhouser.
