There's only one thing on the mind of anyone even remotely connected to Kansas City politics today.
DID THE RECALL FUNKHOUSER FOLKS GET ENOUGH SIGNATURES?!?!?!
Folks who didn't take this effort seriously look stupid now. As I've noted before, even if the numbers don't come down on the right side, never in modern history has a Mayor of Kansas City faced such wide-spread opposition from every segment of Kansas City.
The Mayor's answer to his critics has not been to do a better job or create more meaningful coalitions . . . Instead he has engaged in stubborn and childish taunting as if he was a school-age bully running around with his fingers in his ears yelling in order to drown out any criticism. The Mayor's aloof attitude is a big part of the reason why NO ORGANIZED GROUP IN KANSAS CITY STOOD AGAINST THE RECALL.
And here's the EXCLUSIVE STORY FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST ALL-TIME TKC TIPSTERS!!!
MEMBERS OF TEAM FUNKY ARE CALLING PETITIONERS IN ORDER TO VERIFY THAT THEY SIGNED!!!
That's right . . . Bulky Item Pickup in this town is a myth, good luck getting any info from City Hall and trash and tires litter the streets . . . But Mayor Funky's people want to keep getting paid so NOW they decide to make a few calls.
It gets worse . . . KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS are also saying that after a big meeting today . . .
RUMOR HAS IT THAT MAYOR FUNKY IS SLATED FOR SOME MAJOR VACATION TIME AT HIS CABIN . . . AGAIN!!!
If the word on the street is even halfway true, this goes beyond mere incompetence and pretty much signifies a dereliction of duty. (Hehe . . . Duty)
As far as advanced word about the recall numbers . . . I can only share what I've heard.
It's important stuff but Mayor Funkhouser's career was finished the second he screwed up KCPD efforts to keep their funding. Now we're simply marking time. The Co-Mayors are either out very soon or a little bit further down the line. At this point Kansas City's Mayor is nothing more than a lame duck.
Still, everyone remains curious about the count.
We'll find out this afternoon . . . Or maybe sooner.
Forget the Funk.

ReplyDeletehe's fighting back. what did you numbnuts expect?
ReplyDeleteA little late to fight back now! Plus, if true, totally inappropriate for his office staff to be involved in campaign issues -which this is.
ReplyDeleteForget the f'ed up funky, how about that Nicky? Bet it tastes like honey!
ReplyDeleteLots of bold talk about how this was a lockdown cinch, Tony. Guess you don't have a CORRECTIONS link on yoru blog.
ReplyDeleteActually I thought Tony was way too cautious. I don't remember him ever saying it was going to be easy.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not over yet.
