Tony Gonzalez Traded to Atlanta 5 Years Too Late!!!

It's not really news . . . In fact, it's really not that genius of a decision by the new GM who strangely wins points around this town for walking around with his chest stuck out.

Anyhoo . . . Here's something for sports newsies to scream about tonight:

Falcons acquire TE Gonzalez from Chiefs

In fact, let this story serve as a reminder that Kansas City kills careers.

  3. Good, lets let the GM and the Coach make decisions for awhile. For years, we've not been able to do that!

  4. Good luck, Tony. You're a class act and someday I know you'll be entering the HOF as a Chief.

-Unfortunately, I dont think he'll win a ring in Atlanta.
-Remember: he wanted out and was as recently quoted a few weeks ago as saying such.
-He said himself he only has 1-2 years left (Said if the 2009 season went poorly he may retire as a Chief)...then we woulda got nothing for him
-I'm happy we got a 2nd rder for him (Patriots are notorious for hoarding future picks...and I trust we'll use it wisely)
-Brad Cottam is an above average TE who now has a chance to shine.
-The outlook for next year's draft class is stronger than this one; so the Chiefs will get lots of quality with that 2nd rder next year.

    Great move, but bittersweet.

  6. Damn, TG is leaving? What about the Baja Fresh restaurants he brought here?

Oh yeah, they closed 2 years ago.

Wonder if they have better Mexican food in ATL?

  7. Maybe the Falcons will get Michael Vick back and, combined with Tony G (as opposed to Tony B) will get that ring :)

Maybe the Falcons will trade for Tony Botello? I wonder what he is worth :) Priceless?

  9. The best thing about this is the fact that middle managers in Dockers won't be going around town lamenting they "just feel so bad" for Tony G, a guy who makes millions and wouldn't give them the time of day.
    Freaking jocksniffers.
