Carol Coe Pwns the P&L District!!!
From watching Channel 2 and a couple of IMs sent my way . . . The highlight of Cordish Dress Code talk in Kansas City on the City Council Floor was Former City Council Lady Carol Coe calling out EVERYBODY from the minority community who spoke in favor of the dress codes.
"I'm ashamed that Black people are advocating discrimination"
She also slammed Cordish Employees and associates of color:
"You're being paid to support discrimination in Kansas City"
Thankfully she called out the sellout tactics of Carlos Gomez of Hispanic Chamber as well.
Her Orange hat was the highlight of the afternoon . . . It simply wouldn't make any sense to blog or tweet after the show she put on . . . Maybe I'm wrong. They say they have the votes for this thing . . . We'll see.

And for the record, I just want to point out that KC Taxpayers from all walks of life, even "gangbangers" are paying for the P&L District failure and their pricey bonds.

The Landing area in St. Louis has these same dress codes in place. I'd be curious to know for how long because I didn't hear any screaming about it.

A private business should have the right to require a standard of dress, but the problem is that the P&L District is a tax subsidized project.
I know they don't want thuggy people scaring off the money from Overland Park, but perceived discrimination against any culture or not, I don't see how ANYONE could argue that a publicly financed entertainment district can exclude certain members of the public, whether they own property or not.
Everyone suffers if the city cuts services that were paid for through taxes collected from businesses that the P&L District put out of business.
The black community in KC deserves everything it gets...or doesn't get.

Start by getting rid of the ones who come in here using the N word and have nothing else to say. I'ts one thing to not have a dress code... it's another to let middle school kids take over the place, spreading what they spread on the walls.

The two Knuckleheads - Coe and Adams - played it perfectly for Cordish. The same sort of Riot(s) that even black bars control with dress codes broke out at the P&L hearing.
The Rev's son in play and a security operation (to break up fighting in the crowd)completely "makes" Cordishes case in the court of public opinion.
Cordish is now in a beutiful position for their lawsuit against KCMO. And now they can do it with almost all of the public - white and black - on their side.
