Kansas City's Mayor keeps on pushing poseur image as a reformer
The "Orange Revoltuion" in Kansas City is dead and the only people who still believe that garbage are most likely the Mayor and his wife who are holed in their over mortgaged Brookside residence.
Last night's Town hall was a clear example of Mayor Funky's increasingly delusional statements regarding his tenure.
The quotes from the meeting are incredible:
Toward the end of the meeting, a resident asked about the issue with Funkhouser's wife, Gloria Squitiro.Ugh.
Funkhouser called the city's ordinance, "the silliest thing in the world."
He said that he's not spending much time on the issue.
"I'm not trying to be beloved. I'm trying to get the damn trash picked up,"
MR. MAYOR EVERYONE WHO ACTUALLY WATCHES THE NEWS IN KANSAS CITY KNOWS THAT STATEMENT WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF ONLY IT WAS TRUE AND JUST WASN'T ANOTHER THROWAWAY PR LINE!!!
If the Mayor is so concerned about getting trash picked up in Kansas City, then why is he suing this town when he could be working to restore bulky item pickup?
In fact, earlier this year TKC tipsters reported trash near a school that Mayor Funky had specifically promised to pick up and nothing had been done for more than a year.
The list goes on . . . Meanwhile, Mayor Funky continues to stay at home most of the time and seems more committed to engaging in lawsuits than anything else.

The Mayor is now meeting with people who will be able to put together a NEW REGIONAL LIGHT RAIL project. Mensaman and midtowns old councilman Ruffels are getting together and getting serious. There will be a glorious moment when Funky will release to the public that he and Golden Girl are going to put forth a ballot proposal that will put REGIONAL TRANSIT and ARTS _ARTS together in a NEW BI-State proposal to get the voters to start making this a FIRST CLASS CITY. The ART _ARTS will get some, the museum will get some, the PREFORMING ARTS will need some for heating the glass house as will the Nelson. Something for everybody and all out of the public trough. He's not spending much time on the issue?
I'd say every minute he holds a staff meeting at his house instead of at city hall is a minute he's spending on the Gloria thing.
How come he's not filing lawsuits challenging the police department's refusal to enforce city ordinances? Why isn't he filing suit to "get the trash picked up"?
I think he already told us the answer in an earlier interview where he said that nothing was more important to him than his relationship with Gloria!
