Mayor Funky is phoning it in and I think that sooner or later his constituents are going to notice that he never promised he would be the "work from home" Mayor.
The Pitch: "The Mayor's Chief of Staff confirmed that Wednesday-afternoon staff meetings now take place at Funkhouser's residence" . . . They offer a photo of the Mayor's top two white guys and claim they are "confirming rumors" but fail to mention those rumors were first published here on TKC!!! Natch.

This is obviously one of Mayor Funky's worst moves but it also represents a chance to rework his campaign slogan . . .

It's also just a bit ironic that Mayor Funky is now working from home just like a blogger . . . I wonder: Does he works out of the basement as well?

The bigest screwing I ever got from voting is Mayor Funkhouser.
Let us look at this from the Funks point of view.
The mayor has gone green. Not driving his car to city hall reduces his carbon foot print. Not lighting his office saves electricity. Keep his wife at home gains the gratitude of the public.
Keeping facts from the public protects the public from anxiety. Facts should only be held by the elite and the vested interest groups. No need for the public to know before the light rail election about the projected decline in the rate of revenue growth. No need for the public to know about basic service cuts. No need for the public to know now about the tax proposal to fund the multibillion dollar sewer repair. No need for citizens to know anything. After all we have the Funkhousers and Rus Johnsaon and Deb Hermann looking after our city finances. At long last, we have a city that works.
he is not working at home, he is hiding out! He is running scared and DOES NOT WANT ANYONE TO GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO QUESTION HIM! He is at the "hole in the wall". The dumpy wife HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS STAYING CLOSE TO HIS BUNKER. The pre-trial procedures are making him piss in his saggy pants.

Something fishy is going on here. If it's true that the funk is working from home, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's due to the fact that his wife is barred from city hall. If that's the case... someone has some unhealthy issues.
I still support the mayor because he is NOT "the puppet" that Melvin... Marvin... whoever Brooks would have been. It's just too bad the mayor was never given a chance to run the city. He has been attacked since day one... and for what.... because he balked at the KC policital machine... he stepped outside the crony circle of Wayne Cauthen and Terry "kingpin" Riley. Besides whatever happened to that thug... one day he's crying like a little bitch on tv that someone threatened him... then you never heard from him again. What a little bitch. He was never threatened... He started he whinning because he was getting so much shit for running church expenses through the city. Way to go Terry.. you fricken Bitch Thug!
How sad--we consider ourselves a major American city, yet we have a mayor who works from home. Almost sounds like Sarah Palin when she was mayor of Wasilla.
Perhaps this is a sign that we do not need a mayor--certainly not if we look to any progress(which light rail is ot). Let's elect someone concerned about infrastructure and citizens....and let's get the sickos off the 29th floor and out of office. It's no place for the overwhelming pathology that is Funkhouser.
Funk may have "balked" at the political machine but it didn't take him long to fall into step. He was worshiping at the feet of Jim Nutter before he even got into office.
