TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! MAYOR FUNKY ONCE AGAIN PUTS KANSAS CITY AT RISK WITH HIS HORRIBLE JUDGMENT!!!

This exclusive story comes from a variety of TKC TIPSTERS who are awesome and much smarter than this blog author. THANK YOU for looking out for Kansas City and sharing information with this blog!!!

Loyal readers might remember that Mayor Funky has recently started conducting press conferences from his house. TKC thinks he's working from home in a desperate attempt to keep his wife nearby and avoid a recent effort (i.e. the Volunteer Ordinance) banning his wife from his office.

Sadly, this willfully naive Mayor and his incompetent staff have failed to realize a very important fact regarding switching the venue of City Business:

BY CONDUCTING THE BUSINESS OF KANSAS CITY FROM HIS HOME MAYOR FUNKY IS EXPOSING THIS TOWN TO SOME SERIOUS LEGAL LIABILITY!!!

Some very intelligent TKC readers point out the rules and regs devised with the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund and remind us that this grant fund is the prototype for city guidelines regarding coverage at events funded by the city. If Mayor Funky is holding press conferences and City Business at his house then he should have to demonstrate that his homeowner's insurance is set to cover this type of use which is doubtful. A great many people are absolutely certain that Kansas City's Mayor is blissfully unaware that press conferences at his home put the city in legal jeopardy.

So far, TKC has talked to a couple of local reporters about this issue . . . The first didn't think much of the Mayor's risk. However, the second newsie seemed interested that IF a reporter was to slip and fall on Mayor Funky's dilapidated steps THEN that newsie would be entitled to go after the deep pockets of KC Proper and not the Mayor with little public support. Of course, it was just a hypothetical scenario but over the years I've noticed that newsies can be extremely clumsy when it fits their purposes.

With yet another dumb move the Mayor has made it clear that:

  • He has betrayed his promises of transparency and he has literally taken to hiding in his home to avoid scrutiny.

  • He is obviously unaware of the finer details of the rules and regs that govern City Business or the fact that he has once again made Kansas City financially accountable for his bad decisions.

  • Mayor Funky also assumes that there aren't any newsies in this town who require a wheelchair for their primary mobility given that his house isn't wheelchair accessible and his first home press conferences excluded this important section of Kansas City's populace.

  • Mayor Funky must now either make sure his home is up to code in order to conduct City Business OR make some kind of statement promising that he won't continue to put Kansas City in serious legal jeopardy . . . Either way this is an issue that requires a response from Mayor Funky given that his tenure has shown a remarkable ignorance of Kansas City's liability for his bad decisions.

Thanks to Kickass TKC TIPSTERS (STAND UP!!!) the Mayor won't be allowed to put Kansas City on the line for more legal damages once again. Thankfully, the newsies in this town weren't aware that they could have earned a huge financial reward with just a short fall. I expect that this issue won't be addressed publicly but the potential consequences of yet another bad decision by Mayor Funky are clear and I think this post has went a long way toward avoiding further financial damage against Kansas City because of Mayor Mark Funkhouser's incompetence.

So if the Mayor can't handle this decision why should we trust him with light rail.

"T, you have to go to the next press conference they hold at their house just to upset them." - yeah, and wear some really bad shoes while staggering/limping/falling up the sidewalk.

or just show up in your wheelchair.

I WANT A MAYOR WHO DOESN'T NEED HIS MOMMY BY HIS SIDE IN ORDER TO DO HIS JOB!!!

The Funk is bahaving like an infant and having a sh-t fit or a time out moment. He thought that when he became Mayor his word would be second to that of G-d and in some cases, higher than G-d. Wrong again Funk. Having marginalized himself and created some much animosity from so many sides, maybe it's better he stays home.

As to the liability... he has shown time and time again that he cares not a whit for KCMO and/or the citizens. So why should this be different. What I wonder is exactly who makes the decision to settle a lawsuit regarding the Mayor? WOuld it be the Mayor? The Chief City Lawyer? The Council?

Oh well... as much as this is a pathetic situation, it is just more of the same.

It really does strain ones brain to think that a person elected Mayor of our City could/would behave this way.

The co-mayors have been at home with their new chief-of-staff all day. I haven't seen one of them leave for foot cream or astro-glide (they must have stocked up over the weekend).
    Honestly,
The combined take-home pay of the two salaried employees is more than that of 4 average city employees - who have to show up to an office and follow rules - even when things don't go their way.

It makes me very sad that I voted for Funk. Never again. Not even for a foot rub.

This is really weird... is this really happening? Or is there some other innocent explanation? I hope that the mainstream media picks up on this, investigates the same and brings to task these losers if this is what is really happening.

    No offense Tony...

I was willing to go along with your anti-Funk tirades. I don't like him either.
Your constant use of the race card and your typical stance in opposition to everything has gotten to be tiresome. I'm through with you. You are a loser.

    Loose one, gain ten.
    Your marketing is working.
Since the mayor is using his home now, does that create a zoning issue?

    Do better.

And her is why the council should have never tried to legislate Gloria away, rather than enforce the nepotism law and remove Mark from office -- which means Gloria goes too.

Thanks a lot Jan Marcason for a really stupid idea.

Yeah Mark! March right up the front steps of city hall and show them that you bow to Squit as your masterly boss ...... Yeah! don't hide now. Not when things are going your way. Get Kendrick to shepherd you into the elevator so's you won't be scared. Never mind what your fired staff will say in the depositions next month. You are standing in the light of right... or in a pile of shit......
