Mayor Funky's Light Rail Efforts Sinking
Here's the word from the Mayor's light rail stunt today:
NOBODY SHOWED UP!!!
Here's the money quote from the NBC ACTION NEWS story:

The current plan goes down Grand so it's not even going to union station yet the campaign is implying otherwise. Bad bait and switch politics. Shame.
No body showed up for the tour because the light rail isn't going to the airport. Second reason that it was limited to a handful is Mark Funkhouser.
Third reason only four showed up, has to do with the fact that it was on a work day. The people who will have to pay for the tax increase were out earning a living.
That must've been the saddest train ride ever.
So let me get this right the Mayor and her honor the first lady get in a rubber tired vehicle to ride around and let us know how cool a 500,000 lb steel wheeled train will be. They are accompanied by Glover and Glorioso.
That must have been fun. In a fake trolley with a fake Mayor and a fake wife and two flakes. Great publicity stunt should have been media spun as "Fakes and flakes"

Let us be fair. There was one more person on the bus tour than has been reported. The other person was the bus driver.
By leaving off the bus driver, the opponents under reported by twenty percent the actual participants in the ride.
Does this light rail plan go to the airport?
The city council is nowhere to be seen on this. Spineless bastards put it on the ballot, sniff the wind and run like hell. Makes you wonder if they even secretly hope it will fail but they are so afraid of the Greenies they cannot tell the truth.
I got $100 that says it was Bill Drummond driving the "trolley" (bus). That creep has been driving that thing around the Crossroads for years.
There may be some people who think that anonymous 12:04 pm should not have used the word "bastards" to describe the city council. But her defense let me point out that she did not call the city council "scumsucking bastards", "whores", "sycophonts", "bought and paid fors", "chickens", "cowards" or "dumb asses".
