Kansas City's Mayor Funky flip-flops and fails to remember his record when it comes to indigent health care!!!

It has been noted that Mayor Funky has always thought of himself as a professor above all else and now I guess he's a doctor too when it comes to his dumbass suggestions for health care in the urban core.

Again he's advocating roundabout and "holistic" solutions for urban communities desperately in need of more resources.

A recent speech on health disparities by Mayor Funky reveals that he still suffers from pathological stubborness and has yet to readjust or even slightly tweak his failed approach.

Looking over the notes of the recent speech to the UMKC Internal Medicine Society it's almost frightening that MAYOR FUNKY LISTS LIGHT RAIL AS A CURE FOR THE SICK STATE OF HEALTH CARE IN THE URBAN CORE!!! Clearly, the mayor has given up any hope of rebuilding his credibility in Kansas City and his conclusions are hopelessly strained and now beholden to his weak political agenda.

It gets worse . . . The Mayors own words during campaign season are a better indication about how he feels on the subject of urban health care disparities given the role he played in Kansas City indigent health care decisions. Here's a direct quote from The Star:
The biggest criticism of Funkhouser is that you put out all these suggestions and then when people call you on it, you say, “Well, no, I didn’t really say ‘sell the water department,’ I said ‘study selling the water department,’ ‘I really didn’t say cut the general fund for indigent care, I just said those are options,’” and that you don’t really believe anything, you just sort of throw things up there.

"I think that’s ridiculous. I recommend you read what I wrote. For instance, on indigent health care, there was no waffling there. I said we should eliminate general fund (budget) support for indigent health care, and we have. It’s a done deal."
The fact that Mayor Funky came back from yet another long vacation spouting the same, tired old rhetoric that has little to do with fact or his record is an indication that his Administration is in a terminal downward spiral and fading fast. Sadly, Kansas City's Mayor has refused any kind of treatment or advice when it comes to his Administration and is seemingly content to drag the rest of this town down the road of unhealthy and unnecessary acrimony over the empty rhetoric of a man and his barefoot wife.

Electing him Mayor was a debacle. The City will just have to keep up its vigil to make sure he doesn't cause any more damage than he already has and otherwise just survive him for the rest of his term.

He's officially become irrelevant. 12 to 1 votes by the Council are happening more and more.

They're moving on without him. And that's probably a good thing.

Why are we still promoting tax dollars for zoos? They are irrelvant in this era. At one time, when folks didn't travel great distances and there was little communication, rounding up wild animals and roping them off for our viewing pleasure was reasonable. However, now that we have the internets and Animal Planet, why have zoos??? Withdraw all tax support from them and let the visitors and patrons support them.
