Kansas City Halloween Link Collection

Here's some of the best links I'm reading this evening while hiding in the basement with the lights off so I don't have to give away any of my candy:

  • Upcoming Star Editorial: KANSAS CITY'S MISSING MAYOR!!!

  • A fool for a client in Kansas City: Convicted murderer Richard D. Davis told a Clay County judge today that he wants to represent himself in an upcoming, capital-murder trial.

  • Try your hardest to care about this neighborhood fight: Ivanhoe neighborhood beats city agency in court

  • KCK spooked out this morning: HAZMAT crews responded to a vacant lot near the Wyandotte Plaza shopping center on State Avenue Friday morning after four or five one-gallon containers holding an unknown substance were found there.

  • This county is blowing up (except the economy of course): Authorities surrounded a house in rural Jackson County Friday evening after officers found explosive materials.

  • The Constitution protects people who claim that God hates everything: A federal appeals court said Missouri should be barred from enforcing a state law limiting protests near funerals until it can be determined whether the law is constitutional.

  • I hear that jail is not X-citing: KC Man Sentenced for Role in Distributing Ecstasy Pills

  • So long, suckers: Farewell Message From Dr. John Martin

  • Not quite Karma in Kansas City: Woman Sentenced in Her Own Shooting

  • Local Halloween SUV Crash: A metro driver lost control of his SUV and crashed into a Kansas City home.

  • Weird ass Halloween costume Kendra Wilkinson links
  • Anonymous Waiting for a real editorial said...

The Star editorial posted on Midwest Voices is sophmoric. The mayor has earned a serious editorial rebuke, not this softball reference to "petulant" and softball questions about staff mileage. The last sentence is so simplistic as to leave the reader waiting for a conclusion.

If this is all the Star editorial board has to say, silence would have been a more apropriate option.
