Is Mayor Funky working from home?

The Fall weather is keeping TKC TIPSTERS crisp and attentive!!! One of the most well-informed people in Kansas City recently pointed out something to me regarding a recent press release regarding today's Light Rail Lawsuit put forth by Kansas City's Mayor:
Mayor Press Availability

Mayor Mark Funkhouser will briefly answer questions from the media today regarding the lawsuit filed this morning against Kansas City and the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners. He will receive reporters for five minutes at 2:40 p.m. at his home, 15 W. 57th Terrace.
Is the Mayor working from home now, in order to be with his wife Gloria who was banned from City Hall?

If this is the case, this is the worst kind of fail Kansas City could get for a public official . . . If the guy doesn't want to show up for his job, he should probably just resign!!! Ask yourself, during this economic downturn, could any other worker in Kansas City simply decide to phone it in from home because of dissappointment faced at the office? I knew the Mayor was stubborn but I didn't think he would seriously pout so much . . . But this isn't just disappointing, it's pretty much historic negligence and a lack of accessibility from Kansas City's Mayor.

I wonder if the press will even bother to show up at his ramshackle home? He's not the lead player in this and he has otherwise either marginalized himself or made himself into someone who no one needs to listen to anyway.

As to if he is staying home, Tony, why don't you ask his press office for a copy of his offical schedule?

Or maybe, Yael T Abouhalkah can ask the Funk what he's up to now? Or Yael can ask the KCMO Mayor's Press Office the question... what say ye Yael T Abouhalkah???

Is that the actual press release a spoof? It is like an endorsement for the Too Many Questions side. The mayor showing support for an issue must send a number of votes in the opposite direction How did J.B.N. orchestrate this? Damn the mortgage bank is more clever than anyone around.

We the so called Zelots of Light Rail say let them send their Golieth into batlle, it only heightens are cause. We stand for shinny trains and the mayor knows a good ride when he sees it. He will get re-elected on a light rail victory. Stop bashing Rus and the Funk. Get on board. And learn to live with Gloria. Fight Fight Fight.

Kite, is that you praising the Funk, Rus and light rail? Take a moment and tell us where the route will go. Tell us how much it will cost. Tell us how far it will run if the Feds fail to give matching funds. Dobies won't. Huffer won't. Johnson (bully Rus) won't. Dick Jerrold won't. Jerry Riffle clearly won't. The keeper of the record won't. The voters deserve to know and have full disclosure. And tell us why is Rus picking on the older man---JBN.

Check out the story on www.kctribune.com entitled: Deep Receission Hits American Financial Markets, Could a Depression be Next?

And then tell me if this is the time to spend a billion dollars on a tax increase with no specifics such as cost, route, station location. Now is the time for the public to give a cool steady hand on the ballot lever. "No". The congress didn't get it and the President didn't take action. Does anyone think the KC council is any wiser. Now is the time for the voter to rise to the challenge of being a statesman.

And check out the comments below the kctribune.com article on the article: Deep Recession.... I liked the reminder that we the voters run this show. We just need to start exercising NO. NO is a positive when you say it to a drunken spender.

South Kansas City gave their NO last night to Light rail. Two of their residents were each given 15 minutes to speak. Mims brought an HNTB engineer and he as usual did not answer questions. The against guys had handouts with questions on it and HNTB was embarresed by the questions.
O"Neill spoke of being on the Light rail task force and trying to tell Councilman Sharp (who appointed him) about the money and tax issues ans it seemed that Sharp wouldnn't listen. A guy after the meeting shared that Sharp made a deal with some developers to get the rail line to 63rd. Guess he needs "running for Mayor money"
There were signs saying Nothing in it for South Kansas City!

Anony. 12:32 a.m. tell us who in the hell is this Kite guy? And Anony 10:33 who is JBN?

As a public service someone should keep a directory of all these "players"....we need a program. It is becoming like "who done it" paperback.

Kansas City does not need light rail. It will end up at the top of the list of failed projects.... Union Station, Downtown Arena, P&L District. Kansas Citians do not need another deadend project... we need our GD trash picked up!! It would be one thing if Kansas City didn't have the HIGHEST ratio of highways per Capita. But when you can get anywhere you want in the metro area in no time at all... who will be using light rail? Light Rail would just give the stupid mexicans something else to tag, and the blacks another bag of victims.
