Saving gas and fighting crime in Kansas City

Kansas City anti-crime activist Alonzo Washington is about to get a new weapon in his arsenal against crime that could prove handy given that the recent drop in gas prices is just temporary.
In an attempt to involve local businesses and the community against crime, Mr. Washington is going to be hosting another community rally and broadcast this weekend.
Here are the details:
The event will take place on Saturday Oct. 04 2008 at Motorhead's Scoot & Cycles at 3100 South 24th St. Suite D, Kansas City, KS 66106. The anti-crime broadcast on KPRS, Magic 107.3 and will start at 3:00 PM. At this event Mr. Washington will receive a new motor scooter that will be turned into a the Omega7 anti-crime tips cycle. Here's the audio promo courtesy of KPRS.Actually, I think it's pretty cool that he's getting a kick ass and practical endorsement from a local company.

So often local companies only pay lip service to crime fighting efforts but helping to improve communities in which they do business ultimately benefits consumers and markets . . . Also, scooters are pretty cool and it's about time that the growing trend in the metro area now has a little bit more meaning to it.
